What would you do if you encountered a transgendered person?

I grew up in a very liberal place in California (ha! Odd huh?) so as far as I'm concerned, what ever floats your boat. If it doesn't effect me, I could honestly care less. I don't even think I would be offended if I got hit on by one. I've been hit on by gay guys and it doesn't bother me. Not my cup of tea and nothing to get worked up over.

I'm no expert in sex changes, but from what I understand, it involves stretching the clitoris, and building on that. Then the vulva is formed into a scrotum where the artificial testicles are then inserted.

I believe they can build one from scratch as well (again, not a doctor). I read something about a phallus that inflates through a squeeze ball that is implanted in the new scrotum. Perhaps that's how they're doing it these days..

I personally don't give a rat's ass about what people choose to do with their own body. They have the same freedom as everyone else and shouldn't be judged based on their change of appearance.
And if it makes them happier, so be it, it's always better to have a happy transgendered female than a bitter old man who wishes he looked different.

I must admit that I'm not as tolerant as I'd like, since I would find it incredibly weird to find myself with a beautiful girl who used to be a man, but I guess that's just something you have to live with - And it'll probably be a great story to tell later on in life.

(We have such profound discussions on this forum - and I would like all of us to give ourselves a pat on the back for remaining civil despite disagreeing on so many matters. Mainly when I meet people who disagree on matters such as religion/atheism, sexuality and in this case transgendered people they tend to become quite hostile and defensive. So kudos to all of us)

There was a series of programs a few years ago over here on trans people both pre and post op etc how they lived their lives etc. There was one chap on there who was married and had 3 children, used to be a woman. You never would have known if he hadn't told you.

That bloke in the vid sounds like a good person, the show he was on however is not, it is ultimate morning trash TV over here only slightly above Jeremy Kyle! lol
