I don't smoke anymore, but I believe you can get a pack of pall malls for less than 4 bucks. Marlboro won't cost more than 5 and a half.

Cigs here, NY state can range from $9-$15 a pack. That is disgusting! I do not smoke anymore, but that is way too much for a pack of smokes.

The gas stations on the interstate near where I live are often frequented by people from new york, new jersey, etc. Apparently even with a 5 carton maximum and gas prices for a 9 hour trip it's still more cost effective to buy them here than at home.

LMAO! Though this happens in European countries only and probably in Asia. Nothing new, it's not like they care about the people, they care about the money and they'll always be raising the taxes on tobacco. In Romania the tobacco tax is called "tax per addiction" - this says it all, they're basically using the term addiction to make it easier to raise it whenever their balls feel so. Cigarettes here aren't $10 a pack but sooner or later they'll probably reach $10/pack. A pack a day smoker spends $200 a month on cigarettes which is the minimum wage. LOL

Keep the price of cigs high, but make snus more affordable!

well said, that's why I turned back to cigarettes from time to time ($14 per can or so after taxes and shipping is a damn fortune to pay for a can of snus)

more affordable and widely available in all tobacco shops around the world! :--)

This coming from someone in the state of Wisconsin that has the highest smokeless tobacco tax in the country. I pay over $7 for a can of general if I buy it locally. I actually get my snus from the black/grey market by ordering directly from Sweden.

I can't support high taxes on cigarettes. That's saying "fsck you, as long as I get mine", which is what we have now against snus.

I can't support high taxes on anything. If you want money. Make or do something.....t's wrong and stealing.

Plus one for that. Unfortunately, that's the only affordable way to do it these days.
