    Guerilla marketing our snus.

What do we do, print up a load of Brad Rodu's For Smoker's Only books or... get printed up a load of Royal College of Physician's 2007 report and disseminate it among the community... in doctor's surgeries... in town libraries... and so on.

                Ansel..and the rest of you,

This is something that ONLY you as consumers could do. We in the industry are prohibited, by law (PACTand other laws), from engaging in advertising that touts the benefits or reduced harm aspect of a tobacco product. It sure would make mine and the guys at Swedish Match NA's jobs easier, lol.

I will say this about the state of the snus union; Things are looking up, more and more retailers are asking for snus. These retailers will only ask for it when you as his/her consumer walks in the door and asks him/her to carry the product. Or, send me their info and I'll have my sales people follow up for you. Many, many of you have already done this and we've had good results at getting snus into local shops for members here and on other forums, so thanks. Keep it up....every shop counts.

                Best,

                Rick

Can't really help. Any kind of tobacco marketing is extremely illegal in Denmark. Not sure why - Considering censorship is illegal on public television and we have free-press it seems very, very odd. But sadly laws are laws.. Apart of course the law that says I can't buy snus in Denmark, that law I break with pride!

Its odd as in some EU countries tobacco is advertised quite freely, in Germany there are adverts for Marlboro on billboards, every and any advertising is banned here in the UK, point of sale was the last bastion and thsts gone, but a lot of other EU countries do it freely.

Rick I only wish I could demand it in shops here, but the bloody EU are putting paid to that!

Hey Rick, I have been buying general snus at my local cigar shop and they say they sell a prety decent amount of it. I was thinking of asking them to cary some thunder or something else other than northerner original/white/wintergreen portions but was wondering what I should tell them. Do I give them your contact info or do I give you their contact info?

Give me their info, because they may already buy from us. If that's the case, then it's easy to have the rep add Thunder/Oden's etc to the orders. Thanks buddy

EDIT: it does help if you ask them to carry Thunder, Oden's or Jak's first. They like to know that they will have a buyer before they add a new product.

Since the winter has hit in Illinois I've gotten quite a few office smokers to try some snus. Granted these last few IL winters have been mind it still is cold outside. Had someone almost toss their lunch after some thunder orange. It seems like most non snusers prefer melon as it tastes pretty much like the old watermelon bubilicious bubble gum. It's slow, i try not to come on to strong with the reduced harm....some think im trying to trick them by telling them its not dip. Have had one person tell me they put in an order online for 20 cans of melon to use while at work....others prefer to just ask me for a fix though. When i first started working where i Do i saw a pouch on the top level of the parking garage and i was almost certain it was snus as it was long and thin but didnt look like a camel product.
