If my best friend didn't live in Prague, I'd shut my facebook down in a heartbeat. Just to convenient to communicate with some far off friends. Plus it's nice when GN posts nudie pics.

I hate facebook, but I still have it to talk with friends from other countries. I want to remove it but I feel trapped, gah.

Facebook has been starting to get on my nerves as of lately, but I still use it nonetheless. My main annoyance is after sending a few friend requests, I always get cut off from sending them for like a month, even though every request I send is to people I know from school or work.

everyone i know seems to have a fb. my wife has done fb for years. she would try to get me to get one but i would say no. then one day she signed me up. would not touch it for a long time. i started wanting to understand what the big deal was so i tried it a while. i have maybe 100 "friends" but i never actually see those people in real life. anyway, i log in and look about every 2-3 months. then use adblock plus to block all references to fb from my browser.

one thing i read someone in this thread say that i agree with. it is fun to look up girls from high school. the girls that thought they were better than you. see how ugly and old they have gotten haha.

I don't understand this. We've all gotten uglier and fatter for the most part. I guess I'm just not that worried about other people. Just seems like a silly reason to take solace in the whole thing.

Also how many hot chicks were there? In a class size of 200 for arguments sake split 50/50 there was only gonna be 1 hottest chick then maybe 2 more that were beautiful and maybe 5 who seemed cute by association. That left say 90 chicks. that we all had to split up. How many times did you guys push away a really nice girl because she didn't fit the status quo, We are more guilty then they were for creating the situation. If we were thinking with our minds instead of our heads this would have never happened......... BTW the Hottest chick in my class was a sweetheart but there was only one of her. So to 90% of the guys she was a bitch by no fault of her own..... What did you want her to do break out a night for everybody? And now that some of you are fathers would you expect your girl to be treated in the same way. come on it is no different than when you first start a career and everybody's equal going in but you rise to the top then your old "friends" resort to calling you a kiss ass and maybe even pull the race card even tho your doing a better job. They don't want to acknowledge that tho do they? Sorry but at least 20 yrs ago people were still people. I know that Hollywood has taught us for years that the hot chick is a bitch but from my recollection that wasn't the case it was just a case of limited supply.......

I have facebook, but I then again, it is necessary for some schoolwork and keeping up with events.
And keeping in touch with the pretty lil' girls.

Apart from that, yeah other people's success makes me miserable - I HATE SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE!

Pretty much the heart of the thread is that Facebook makes people miserable because it brings up a whole slew of negative feelings and in some cases that EX heartless female demon. The one you thought you completely forgot about until you saw her face on add to your list of Friends or are oddly driven to look her up for old time sake. Most of those negative memories of past should be in the past but FB ends up bringing back a lot of that and yes, for me it does feel slightly liberating to lose that negativity, infatuation, obsession or whatever it was I had at one time for that person by a current appearance. It gives the thought of "What was I thinking?" from age related wisdom. When it comes down to it I wish I never would of joined facebook and opened those doors to buried memories. Real life is just too great to spend anytime in virtual world re-hashing it or dwelling on the past.

I agree with your theory to a point (met enough female demons) as well as nice one's but want to add that one of the greatest things of growing past high school is how many more women start to look attractive.

I listen to a ton of music and go to shows often. Facebook is a great way to keep track of bands, and see if they are playing my city.
The only thing I have showing up in my news feed are band updates.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
