Me and my girlfriend are trying to learn swedish (she's gotten very into her heritage lately). Before we get started does anyone have suggestions of how to learn? I've checked out a ton of sites offering lessons but I want to make sure we get started on the right track and dont have a terrible starting experience with a bad learning method. Thanks in advance if anyone has any advice to offer
Has anyone tried to learn swedish?

Excellant!Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

My grandfather learned it in his 60's. He was one of the first born in the U.S. after his parents emigrated here from Sweden and they switched over to English when they did with no Swedish in the house so that the younger kids never learned it growing up. After he retired he took a trip out there to see the family there and in preparation he learned Swedish. My grandfather is a rather amazing man though in that after he retired he also attended Princeton seminary in his 60's to become a minister in his retirement.
Anyway all that being said, considering how much harder it is to learn a language later in life if he did it in his 60's it can be done, with determination. He has always been the determined type, I mean he survived Omaha Beach on D-Day and just turned 94...

And it's not too hard to learn if you have the free time and patience. It has a lot of similarities to English.Originally posted by FrostedI knew he was committed as an actor but I think he went too far in his latest role as Princess Diana
