I enjoyed my time at tech, probably too much. This granted was well before that shooting incident. The biggest problem I had was disillusionment with my original major (Mechanical Engineering) so I left after three semesters to attend a more local college to figure out what I wanted to do.

Talent and influence go hand in hand with greatest ever, and I realize (as I stated when crediting your list as all excellent guitarists) that its just not about rock, and EVH and Slash can stand toe to toe with any guitar player in any genre. I never claimed they were better than anyone else, just that they belong on any list of greatest guitar players, because thats what they are, whether youl ike the music or not. So go on and keep trying to belittle me and making an ass out of yourself. If you would ever like to have a normal conversation, and talk to me like a person (since you act like you know me and don't know a single thing about me), then i would love to converse about guitar players. But as far as you lecturing me, and trying to "win" with subtle" insults, well, I am done with that. You keep on showing your ignornace, its at least cheap entertainment for the folks here.
The point is you are as ignorant as the people this was about. I mean facts are facts calling anything the greatest will lead to debate. But the fact is the people in the story had an argument over two guitarists that both came from essentially 80's hard rock music. So their lack of taste statement is due to the fact that all their limited scope they only listen to one genre and are missing so much more that is out there in music. Just two drunk rednecks reliving their big hair high school glory days.

And the fact that you have taken so much affront from some anonymous person on a tobacco message board shows everyone that you are basically the same type of ignorant redneck.

Too many just to pick one. ATM, I would say Jerry Garcia. Even though he was a tad spaced.

Heard the intro to Fire On The Mountain on one of the Dick's Picks series this AM. Amazing, It gets me every time. Every live version has it's own different charm.

My other favorite hero is Frank Zappa, even his jazz albums.

Frank Zappa deserves a spot among the guitar gods.

You continue to entertain thru your ignorance. You stertype people based on the music they like? Wow. Says all that needs ot be said about you right there. But you are the type of guy that needs the last word and insult in a debate on the internet huh? I never called anyone the greatest, only explained they deserved to be on the list. You then come out and blast and insult any fan of rock. So no, I am not ignorant, nor a redneck, and you have shown your maturity level by the constant insults, talking down, and stereotyping people that you know nothing about. Why can't you have a good ole fashioned conversation debate about guitar styles. Why do you get so snooty when its about rock n roll? Did I insult anyone on your list of greats? Nope, I said they belong. But your constant insults and ignorance on this subject I just do not get. It may pain you that EVH and Slash are among the greatest ever, but they are. I would call no one the greatest, because there is not just one. But insult me all you like. They belong on that list as the majority of music lovers would list them on the list. So why not just take a step back, apologize for your utter ignornance in this thread, and just have a conversation with me? Can your ego handle that? I am thinking probably not.

And another to add to the list is definitely Joe Satriani.

Again you are missing the point about how my comment was directed to the original story, if you learn to stay on topic and in context you will find conversations much easier...

I'd like to start a new argument with Ken since he's a Misfits fan. Which mix was better: the original Static Age mixdown or the Legacy of Brutality remixes?

I would have to go for Legacy of Brutality, based on my personal preference and absolutely no scientific data. It just sounds better to me.

                          Slash is a snus user.

Same here, I think the production is more atmospheric and it's the one I grew up listening to. You know that this makes us heretics among "true" Misfits fans, right?

The only heretics among misfits fans are the ones that believe Jerry Only can hang with Glen Danzig and Michael Graves on vocals
