I wear my shoes in the house all the time. With the exception of days off bumming around the house. My dog doesn't take her paws off...and they're way more dirty than my shoes. I would never ask a guest to take off their shoes.

Back in my youth I sold kirby Vacuums and I can tell you it is easier to get dirt out of the carpet or swept off the wood and tile then it is to get sweat and oil off of either. That being said I generally kick them off at the door but sometimes leave them on if I wasn't walking thru a bunch of shit....

If you take your shoes off in my house someone wearing shoes might step on your bare feet.

If boots are snowy we take them off.
Its cold on the floor so wear house shoes or slippers.

As a kid we didn't. As an adult with my own place we always take them off at the door.

There's no excuse for funky feet.

We dont have snow here, that may be a different story and our houses are tiled except for the bedrooms so a bit of dirt is not a problem.

In Sweden wearing shoes indoors is looked at as disgusting and rude, and I agree. Why would anyone wanna do that to their own or somebody elses house? lol

Well, if you're walking snow into the house from the bottom of your shoes and also when you accidentally step on a Tracer, sorry....a troll, it could get quite disgusting so I'm not surprised.

5 people in the apartment, 764 square feet (71 m2) living space => shoes off at the door

                            We use slippers though.

Well considering the possibility of getting some Tracer on ones foot totally changes all variables of this post.
                              :^)

Yes I keep runners on in the house, but I don't wear them outside. There's still a meter of snow on the ground, so it's like you can go barefoot in the house it's too cold
