The biggest threat from N. Korea is a collapse of their government/failed state. If that happens, S. Korea and the US go in blind to secure nukes. And there's no snus for miles.

That was the promise, but it hasn't worked out that way. I think Steve Jobs sold him access to the Apple distortion field before he died. He's a slick talker, and people over here like his color; it makes them feel good. Performance? Who needs [performance? We have a bag full of promises that'll be cashed in eventually. That's the hope anyway. He campaigned on hope, and he delivered. I guess you can't fault him for that :^D

We don't need any new shit. What we need is a president that upholds the Constitution. That means no illegal search/seizures, no assassination of citizens, and no indefinite detention. That affects ME directly. After that, we can worry about the rest of the world. Stopping drone strikes in foreign countries would be a good start. It's a fsckin' joke that he got a Nobel prize; all before he did anything. They need to get rid of that prize altogether, and distribute the money amongst the sciences where it matters.

I think you are absolutely right.

And comming back to N.Korea, in Spain we use to say "too much noise and very few walnuts" I mean that N.Korea are feigning to to try to convince the world that they are stronger than they are. Well, they could be a pain in the ass, but I don´t think they are a real threat

Most Americans have no inkling of the history of the histronics associated with N Korea....... Our news is predigested and served as entertainment anyway. You have to really work your butt off to remain reasonably well informed here. But the masses here can give you minute Lady Gaga intel. My dad was in the Korean conflict. Its just been in the last several years that I have heard it called a war. Mostly it has pissed my dad off the way the public and media has dealt with the war.

Right now I can't remember where this was but me and him went to a museum. They had an exhibit for each war that America has been involved in including the contemporary "wars" that lasted a few days. Of all those conflicts they had the least stuff by far from the Korean conflict. It bothered dad but over the years he has taken the attitude basically "screw them" (my words not his).

I started hearing about Korea from the time I could hear. Dad don't hate them by any means. At the same time, he has told me more times than I wanted to hear that we should have finished that war. That sooner or later we "will" have to finish it and the more time that passes the worse it will be. Growing up I blew it all off the way that stupid sons normally do the things parents say. Now he is pushing 90 and ain't always home, if you know what i mean. Tonight when I read that news story I started to call and tell him. I did not, I worried it might keep him awake.

Maybe I know too much about Korea or maybe I have been brain washed but I too believe one day we will have to finish that war. With the new punk they have as a leader now it worries me that being a spoiled 28 year old punk he may think he has something to prove. Maybe his young-spoiled-stupid-tunnel-vision self will cross the bad@ss take line and all heck will break loose. I hope not.
