Good job, Crow! That's a major reduction. But something is wrong, that diet turned you French and made you give your weight in kilos. That makes George Washington sad!

Yo as I think I mentioned, I've been on a crazy diet myself for the last week at the behest of my girlfriend. I suppose you could basically call it Paleo, shudder to utter it, but basically I've been only eating meat and vegetables and nuts and fruit for a week. No sugar or carbs. Supposed to not be drinking too but instead I gave up beer and have been drinking lots o' whiskey on the rocks. Lost 10 to 12 pounds in a week, not sure exactly because I don't know exactly what I weighed before, but I have a good idea. I feel lighter and smaller, and great all around although I was real tired for four days or so. Now feeling normal and never bloated, no acid reflux, shit only twice a day (a big deal for me), and have lots of energy. I'm faster on my morning runs. For whatever that's worth. Yes I won't eat this way forever but hopefully I'll learn a lesson or two about what to consume.

        Wiseass.

        -----------

Still at 75 kg. No change in diet (maybe a little more junk food than usual, but that's about it).

Keep up the good work, Zimbopog!

So now Im down to 220#. Not bad. I'd like to lose another 20-30. Only issue I have is I have been stuck at 220 for more then a week! Any ideas on how to bust out of it again?

Ketosis diet, 20 or less carbs, minimal processing, high fat.

Started this today...again. 1st attempt was a couple weeks ago but it was a bad idea right before both mine and my daughter's birthdays. Pretty easy for me at least to stick to for the most part, its just the "counting carbs" part that I think I don't do so well on. Many of the vegetables have small amounts (1-2 net carbs) and the portion sizes just don't feel right..4 cups of loosely packed salad greens? After a couple of days last go around there were no hunger issues at all, I actually had to remind myself to eat most times. Late at night is the hardest part since I have a long history of snacking on carbs before bed. Currently sitting at 225 pounds...hoping to be below 210 by June 15th (heading to the beach) at the least

Right on. I really recommend the products on the upgradedself website. (That's the website of the guy who developed the BP diet.) The coffee mixed with MCT oil and grassfed butter provides the best buzz ever, and makes the intermittent fasting easy. His stuff is very competitively priced too.

I stalled within 8-9 months but continued to eat the same way and gained a little weight back and muscles which may or may not of been lost.
If I feel I am gaining then I stick with protein and vegetables. No cheese, low starches, nuts, dairy or fruit.

I don't count carbs or count anything or buy anyone's special products. I just don't eat grains and sugar, so no pasta, beer, bread, rice.... just meat, veggies, fruit, nuts, and Scotch haha. I stalled a little too but after a month I'm down about 17 lbs. I am not strict about anything either... if I really want a beer or some noodles or whatever, then I'll have it. This new way of eating just makes me feel good, that's all. It's had a very positive effect on my digestion as well. Acid reflux is a thing of the past, as is excessive gas (or any at all for that matter).

My girlfriend and I were supposed to be doing this for 30 days to see how we felt afterward, and we are continuing on with it. On special occasions or when we really want to we will eat whatever we want, but I've found I don't crave the shit I'm not eating really at all.

Technically scotch is made from grain, just saying, and all alcohols turn to sugar when metabolized, again just saying...

                            Congrats Roo!

I have found distilled spirits do not mess with my digestion like Beer or Wine does so have been sticking to that. Pre all of this I would have a Zantac and tums in my pocket everytime I went out for Beers. Have not had a Zantac in years.

Devilock- yes many distilled spirits are grain based but seem safe enough for people avoiding gluten like myself. For people with celiac disease they might be wise to stick with non-gluten grain mashes. I drank a lot on this diet and still lost weight.

                              Which hard alcohols are best?

I'm seriously considering this diet, and once I speak to my doctor about it and get his take on it, I'll take the plunge. It just goes against everything I've ever been taught about fitness and nutrition. The science seems to make sense though, and I'm presenting it to my doc for an opinion as to how it will affect my vascular health, etc.
