These first photo is one of a Max IV I used to own. Its a 6x6 skid steer truck, and it's also also amphibious. As you can see there, I am up above the clouds! It isn't fast or anything but it will traverse steep grades and handle almost any terrain. You need these kinds of vehicals in Alaska. For instance, it would take me 12 hours or so to hike to this spot, and then if I shot a moose or a bear, I would be carrying between 900-1200 pounds on my back down the mountain. That would be really tough, especially with all the trips I'd have to make.Click image for larger version

Not sure if this counts, but I've been teaching myself calligraphy, and working on several types of scripts. It really calms me and centers me.Here are a few camera pics.

Thanks dude....I've been seriously working on it for about a month. I use actual dip pens and nibs, etc. It's really hard for me because I'm left handed. I've always had pretty good handwriting, but really wanted to "juice" it up a bit, lol

The first one is across Knik Arm to the Chugach Mountains, the other two are of Knik glacier in the distance. We spend a lot of time playing on this mountain.

That is really cool, Rick! Real Handwriting is a true lost art. Have you considered trying your hand at illumination? Impressive!

Yo, Snus-didya know Alaska is the only state where the largest political 3rd party is secessionist? Look up the AIP! We have a large population of Texans here so that might be helping .

South Carolina will always be remembered as the start if the Second American Revolution!

I love Alaska, and have spent quite a bit of time up there working. There was a time that I'd come up there for work and stay for a month or two in an apartment (it was cheaper than renting a hotel for that length of time), and had a great time working, lol. I've spent the most time in Anchorage and Fairbanks, but also Juno which I didn't like as much. The best part was after working hours, during the Summer, I had unlimited daylight to have fun ;-) Have done a ton of hiking, fishing (caught King and Halibut...big ones of both), fell in love with Reindeer sausage and smoked salmon. I've sat in hot springs near the Arctic Circle and smelled like sulphur for 3 days, LMAO...it did however feel great. I like southern Alaska far more than I like the "Interior", and one of my favorite places is the Kenai peninsula...if for no other reason, the sheer beauty. I've stood on glaciers, rafted down glacial melt rivers, kayaked around glaciers as they've calved and stood in Denali National Park and cried because it's the first time in my life that I realized just how insignificant we truly are. OH, and I've hiked up to the top of Flat Top near Anchorage, and once I hit the top....found MANY topless co-ed sunbathing...that was a great day, lol.

All in all...I've had several trips of a "lifetime" so to speak, and almost all of them have been to Alaska. Sadly, I've not been back since, but will return in the near future.
