    Fitness Thread

Is there anyone else into fitness around here? Don't worry guys, the fleshlight fitness program counts.

I went from 300 lbs to 168, and then grew to 225 with weight lifting. This summer I'm working on getting down to single digit body fat (around 15% now), and gaining a bit more muscle. Of course, it's hard as hell to gain muscle while cutting. Diet, diet, diet. Height is 6'3".

Will try to get back to 225-230 @ 8-9% body fat over the next year.

Post it up guys, what are you doing?

believe a thread of this sort has been started in the past. Judging you having to stat another one I'd be surprised if anyone has the will to workout around here. There is also a snus and fitness page as well.....

Me! I try to hit the gym everyday, although I usually average about 5 times a week for various reasons....

I do a split routine, what about yourself? I don't really do any cardio in the gym, but usually cycle to work everyday

I believe that thread was called snus and fitness and was directly dealing with usage of snus in conjunction with fitness programs. And it is so old might be considered thread necrosis to resurface. Just saying.

Anyway I used to be a track runner, and swimmer. Injuries ended the former, schedule the latter. Really been on the straight and narrow the past few years, was lifting, but was seeing a lot of repetitive use injuries in my HIT style program. Also my recovery times were longer than I would like from it. I switched to a Yoga program designed by a former pro wrestler (that description allows you to google it without me presenting an "endorsement" or "recommendation"). Anyway it has worked very well for me and really helped up my recovery game and a more complete fitness portfolio. Yeah I know Yoga is an immediate strike against the Man Card, but considering the creator of it I think I get a pass, or at least half a past.

Anyway I have kept a simple goal, and have met it in my fitness. I am 6'5" and a big MMA fan. With my frame I think I would be around a light heavy weight. That is 195-205. I am at that weight, usually floating right around 200. I can fit in 34 inch waist pants in most makes and cuts, which is the same size I wore in high school 20 years ago. I am happy with where I am at and my ability to maintain that now.

Although that being said I think my cardio could be better.

A good walk and stretching every other day.
Gardening, lawn work, fixing things in the house or helping family/friends to do the same thing is my exercise routine.

Gyms, weights etc.. I dabble in but cannot stay consistent. Building, creating or updating something is always more fullfilling to me.

Just recently looked up Youtubes on YOGAS for back pain and added it to my routine.
I dont think I could keep up with my Chakras but willing to try a Tai Chi class.

A girls fitness regime I found which i no longer do called Boddy Pump at some gyms. It is the shoulder bar with weights and you do dead rolls, curls squats and on your back work to MUSIC with a drill sargeant leading the order of things. You can choose 2 lb weights and up to whatever. The lower weight tones and the higher weight builds bulk. Its important to do the things right due to you can cause damage over the long run eing out of position.
a new thread is needed if the other threads died. Maybe more people are doing it now. Anyway alot of threads die on forums. So what?

I'm busy with two young kids so I work out when I can because there's a huge energy drain going on with the shift work as well. I run when I can and regularly do dips and push ups. I'm 43 soon so my recovery time is longer than it was when I was 20 and could run 1.5 miles in 7 minutes 30....can't touch anywhere near that now.

"The lower weight tones and the higher weight builds bulk." This is not actually true. "toning" is just less fat. So while we are at anorexia and tape worms tone as well.

The most efficient weight plan is typically HIT style training. However I am not a professional so I would be reluctant to call that a recommendation especially to someone at age 60.

Still the point is the key to muscle hypertrophy is a matter of load x time under load.
