    Snus University (Programming in C++)

    The programming language will be C++ and we will be using Microsoft Visual Studio to make our programs.

    I can only issue a limited amount of licence keys, so it won't be an open group (per se), but those not part of the group would be more than welcome to observe (and follow along).

    I will set up the group shortly after the SQL presentation is finished.

    What's wrong with you? VisualStudio?! How about Emacs and lisp? :^P

    Btw, for the reviews, are you looking for something very terse, or more wordy?

      I'd love to learn. Since programing of any sort wasn't really offered at my high school (I ended up correcting my teacher about basic HTML), I haven't learned much of anything.

        That'll be enough out of you, lad...... ;^)

        As for the reviews, yeah, I'm looking for something polished; not too verbose. Keep in mind, your reviews are going into rows.

        But if you need to know the character limit, I set it to 255 for the reviews.

          I notice a small bit of interest. That's good. If the flow stays steady like this, it should be no problem.

          I look forward to teaching you lot some computer programming!

          --------

          Oh, and Skillet... If you want to learn C++; you're going to have to learn the Crow way (-- and that means Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 )

          The real raisin is the instructions differ a bit from flavor to flavor... I would have to look up the instructions for your compiler while I teach others the proper way.

              Sure. As long as you have Windows installed.

              ---------

              I think I'll mix things up a bit (to challenge meself)... We'll work with several variants of Visual Studio (from 2010-2012); I'll randomly assign variants to participants...

              There's no substantial difference between the versions, but usually instructors will stick with one variant.......... Well..... I'm not your typical instructor.

              and Skillets, I'll let you use whatever compiler you want (let me know beforehand so I can figure out the differences between the Microsoft compiler and whatever penguin compiler you'll be using).

              I love a good challenge. Caw!

                Actually Bigblue1, I believe there's a C++ compiler built into OS X.

                        I used to have VisualStudio that I got from a MSDN account, but I deleted it when I decided I was done with MS :^D

                        What kind of format are you looking at for instruction? It basically comes down to write code, debug, then compile, right? Maybe I could just read what you're doing, and translate it for different tools. GNU/Linux uses gcc for the compiler.

                          I'd be interested in following this but I don't know how much I'd participate. I develop in C# all day every day so I've usually had enough by quitting time. I took C++ all through college so I'll find it interesting to see whats changed over the years. No need for a license key for me - I have every Visual Studio .NET from version 1

                            I too am a software engineer, mostly C# but recently C++ in CentOS with Eclipse, sure makes me miss Visual Studio. Cool you are doing this Crow.
