And see this is why I love snuson. We can pretend to be men and say soap operas are for ladies and then go and make our very own real life one

Love you all like brothers (And the occasional sister, if we don't get all weird and run her off!)

I see it as GN just sticking up for a mate, as we all would in real life and on here. The way to get past this is to all get drunk, PP is buying

Haven't you figured out that they have their own secret club that is instructed to ignore ( shun)
any members they deem not their type? Quite the elitist trip.

Or I've been up all night removing spyware and I need some sleep. Could be the
Blue Val I took 40 mins ago. Doc gave me some finally.

I don't know what was said either but I can understand making a post out of line as I allmost have once myself but if Frosted was out of line I think he should be given the chance to make an appoligy for his mistake if he feels he made one and go on with his participation in on the forum. As for GNs post he didn't make threats or ultimatums any towards any members of the forum he made a choice to do what he felt was the right way to stand up for a friend.

I should point out that is normal around here. Usually by the 5th post, the thread has either been derailed, turned hostile or turned into a fleshlight comment section. It keeps things exciting.

Sounds like fleshlight talk to me! There would be a market for an ethically sourced fleshlight!

At the rate this board discusses Fleshlights, I'm surprised there isn't a "What Fleshlight are you using right now?" thread...

I would like to apologise for my outburst at the beginning of this thread. I didn't see what happened with Frosted and so can't judge whether he deserved a ban/holiday whatever you want to call it.

I would particularly like to apologise to the americans I insulted by pointing out some of our stereotypical cultural differences. Also to anyone who caught me on chat shortly afterwards (Skell, PP, Crow and some others) for similar reasons.

I would like to maintain that I probably feel a deeper sadness for his banishment than most here ... mainly because he is generally on the same wavelength as me. SnusOn IS a difficult place to feel comfortable as an Englishman, for me at least, and the presence of Skell, Vulpes, Ansel and Frosty at least felt like a significant minority (with the demise of MuddyFunkStar, KarlVB and ScotsGuyInWales). I also maintain that we in Britain do have a culture of feeling the freedom to be rude (as close to the line of taste as we can manage) in contexts we feel comfortable in - it's a kind of national sport - especially amongst men - to see how close to the line you can come - and although I didn't see what Frosted typed here - I really rather suspect that is what happened ... whether or not it crossed the new terms and conditions and legal jargon or not.

As for GN ... I think we have all seen since his appearance here that he has a very individual style! It's not for the faint hearted, but you can't enjoy his outrageous comedy genius and famous generosity without also appreciating that this thread is a simple emotional plea to not ban Frosted for something that I can only assume he was around to read - in his own inimitable language. He is an emotional guy and has some very strong (and foreign to me) opinions. But he has always been completely straight up and honest with us here ... always!

I don't think this forum's moderators and the decisions made by them are beyond reproach at all. I have serious respect for a few of the mods (notable mention for PP) - but I don't share the same for every single one - in fact I don't really know who all the mods are.

All I will add to this already far too long post is ... be careful what you wish for! Every time you defend your right not to be offended somewhere - your whole experience in that place becomes a little bit poorer ... until you end up living in a bubble of your own opinions and people who agree with you and your life will stay exactly the same .... safe ... but not interesting at all!

                          Cheers

I can't forgive the American insults. I was going to get my gun and defend my honor but I was much too fat to get out of my chair.

Seriously though, I can't see getting too offended over slight cultural differences though. I can fully grasp that many over the pond do not understand American gun culture the same way we can't understand embracing a (seeming) anachronism like the royal family. Sometimes I like to see things from another culture's viewpoint.

Really though, why do you guys spell color with a "u"?

Because it's our language dammit! The clue is in the word English ... from England. As soon as you guys admit that you speak USAian and not English is the day I stop trying to correct you.

But the serious answer is that it's actually it's a hangover from the first days that spelling was "standardised" in England in the 1700s ... people then did say COLOUR pronouncing the U as well ... but today we say CULLER - and truthfully if that's how people would have pronounced it in the 1700s then that's how it would be spelt today. I don't know many americans who actually pronounce the word COLOR either - but that was presumably how it was pronounced when the word got frozen in time and that's how it is today for the purposes of spelling.

Personally I like those historical differences - but for all of us .. as spellings get further removed from how people actually say them - the language gets more unwieldy.
