Now, regarding the post that got Frosted warned...it was justified, IMO. His post was in direct response to a new member's post and it was, well...less than friendly. While Frosted was just defending his beloved Oden's, it could have been handled with a bit more tact. Now, we all love Frosted and we all love Oden's and GN, but if this forum wants to continue being on the internet, then we cannot treat the new members like crap and make them feel like they don't know what they're talking about.

For those unsure about what's going on, it had to do with Frosted's response to my first post in http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthread.php?25204-Newbie-Looking-for-Help! I then made the mistake of posting a rebuttal to what he said (both of which were removed), possibly making the issue worst.

While I may be new to snuson, I'm not new to snus in general, although I haven't been using it for decades like some others on here. I was just speaking from my own experience and apparently Frosted's experience differs. Neither of us are wrong, as far as I'm concerned. I personally got hooked on extra starks for around a year (15-16 mg portions) and every time I'd use a regular portion (8 mg) I always felt as though something was "missing." When I switched to regulars almost exclusively I went through a period of "mild" withdrawal that included cravings, irritability, mental fog, etc. As with every other addictive drug, withdrawal effects vary significantly from person to person. No, it wasn't a horrible withdrawal or even close to giving up nicotine entirely, but it certainly wasn't without some discomfort for me, as Frosted claimed. Some people can go from smoking 20 years to stopping entirely, cold turkey. Others, switching to light cigarettes is troublesome.

Frosted, unfortunately, isn't here to be able to defend himself or justify his words. Honestly, while it may have been a poor decision to respond to a "new member" in that manner, maybe he hadn't had a portion in a while and was just cranky. I don't like being the one indirectly responsible for his ban. I have no issues with him, GN's products, or anything of the sort. I'd hate to see Gevorg leave as well from the whole ordeal.

I look forward to being a member of this forum and getting to know Frosted as well as everyone else, and learning about GN's products from the owner himself. To whatever moderator responsible, I say: unban Frosted, and let's forget the entire thing.

What's the big deal about getting banned from a forum anyway? I got 86ed from killthecan.org for trying to spread the word about snus... I just couldn't bear to sit back and watch all of those poor ex-dipping souls suffer...

Besides, what's to stop someone from just creating a new login under a different email address?

Nothing really, but it is troll domain. As a former forum and site admin and user of many forums I have been banned fom a forum exactly once. I was the number one poster but I was technically a business competitor to the owner of the site (unrelated business to the site) and I never advertised or promoted my business through the site. But after a dust up over some stupidity that I still feel I was in the right I was banned, I feel in the right because I was banned for the actions of others and accused of putting others up to it. On principle I would never create a new login to that site.

don't feel bad Lincoln.....I was banned from killthecan after only about 60 seconds after joining.....because I wouldn't post a single word. The mod actually gave a countdown from 10 to 1. Then he hit the button and I was banned.



oh and we often check to see when someone opens a second account here at snuson then they get banned as well as the IP addy. Its much better to contact a mod and explain what happened. We all know "its just the internet".

As far as the updated TOS here at snuson......it now reflects that all the members adhere to normal forum ettiquite and respect for other members AND THE MODS here. Which means we ain't taking anymore shit from the members that troll or attack other members. I wasn't here at the time of this recent fiasco and I still don't know what happened. Its hard as hell to ban a senior member imo. I've had good cause many times to permanently ban a senior member but, so far, have always forgived and try to forget. Things are a bit different now but only slightly different. All we are asking for is for the members to respect others.

However, if you rip off another member on the tobacco exchange there is absolutely no way you won't get an immediate permanent ban. The mods are here to protect the good members as well as monitor the site.

Because he was respectful in his dissent. We don't want to squelch dissenting opinions, that's not what we want to accomplish, but rather have people offer them in a manner that allows for open, honest and respectful dialogue. I called GN and spoke to him, explaining the situation and he explained why he said what he said on the forum. He was merely protecting a friend that he thought was wronged, now that he knows the back story, he understands the action that was taken.

All we ask is for people, new and "seasoned" to be polite. This is a forum for the open exchange of ideas and opinions, not an arena where we battle to prove how smart we are. Now, this statement wasn't directed to you personally Blue, but rather all members.
