West of the Cascades, we say "soda"; East of the Cascades, they say "pop".

Do Cascadians say "lunch box", "lunch pail", or "lunch box"?
    Lunch box.

Geoduck = Pronounced "Gooey Duck" (it's basically a giant clam).

Skookum = It's definitions can vary... The consensus (and what I've observed) is that it's a word used as form of positive connotation.

Tillicum = For the Seattleite, it's most often attributed to "Tillicum Village" (which is a tourist spot on Blake Island)

Green Chain = A term used during Cascadia's logging era. A type of sawmill basically.

Skid Road = Yesler Way, Seattle // Logging era ::: (used a route to skid logs to Yesler's Saw Mill). Also used to describe its seedy inhabitants who were in the region at the time looking for work.

Pulaski = Not entirely certain about this term... I believe it's referring to the axe, which was used for firefighting (reference to the Great Seattle Fire?).

Kokanee = Okanagan word (BC natives) -- refers to the sockeye salmon. Used for various landmarks in BC (incl. the Kokanee Range, and the Kokanee Creek)

Coho = Coho salmon. A type of salmon in our region.

Dungeness = Common perception: Crab. A type of crab in our region.

This one has an interesting history.... The Dungeness crab is named after the community of Dungeness, WA; which is named after Dungeness headland in England.

Chihuly = Dale Chihuly. A well respected glass sculptor from Tacoma, WA

Frangos = Brand of chocolate that was sold in "Frederick & Nelson" (a defunct department store)

Bumbershoot = An international music/art festival in Seattle.

Fellow Cascadians, look that over and see if you agree.. Corrections are welcome
