Hi All,
Just found this forum even though I have been snusing for about 6 months.

I am from California, and yes, I am of the female persuasion. How many other women are here? I am an ex smoker and keep my snusing to myself. I am single and date occasionally and have never had one guy even suspect that I snus.

Any other snusing stories like mine? Gosh, is snusing even a verb?

Im not female, although there are 3 on here i know of.

I just wanted to say, i guess its a female thing but i snus i public all the time. Mostly with los.

Im the type of person that is a take me as i am. I have no reason to hide what i do and do not care how society stereotypes me.

Thats just me. But then again i guess its easier for society to except males as smokeless tobacco users, except in sweden where females snus in public often.

I grew up in California. My ex-wife had transferred from NC State to Berkeley, where I met her. 6 year later, right before we got married, I convinced her to move back home. Financially, Raleigh is MUCH easier.

Note the ex-wife part. After she left and I started to date a bit, I came to snus cause smoking seemed to eliminate a large portion of possible dating opportunities. Ironically, the few women I have dated since all smoke. But I am SO grateful not to smoke any more, and never be in a situation where some woman I am interested in thinks I stink :lol:

Thank you for the warm welcome. As far as being discrete about snus, I do not think that I have come to terms with the idea of a woman, well, chewing.

I can not imagine a man thinking that was a cool thing for a woman to do. Heck, I loose most men at the part when I tell them that I drove big rigs (thus the handle Tanker Yanker) to get through my undergrad studies. Now that I have my motorcycle license the last thing I need to do is let some guy know that I put worm dirt in my mouth (even if it is in a cute little tea bag looking thing).

My favorite is off road licorice.

I've never been big on hiding anything about my tobacco use. EXCEPT when I was a smoker. Sneaking to get a quick smoke at work, hiding out in the car etc. Now I feel compelled to share!! I tell every smoker I know about new flavors I've tried and how much better I am health wise!

Don't be ashamed! There are some men out there that a) just don't care or b)think it's cool you enjoy what they do and finally c) will appreciate that you stopped smoking!

I bumped this thread cause Tank just made a reappearance and posted her picture in the "Post your Mug" thread today.


So sage, looking at the big picture and always trying to post in ways that "help" make Snuson a good place, figures that bumping Tank's introduction thread was a nice thing to do for folks who either didn't remember or weren't here then.


But yes, a woman from California, where I was born and raised, and a woman who rides a bike, which is a HUGE part of my life. (See my other post showing my stats from my other forum) Let us just say that I do notice someone like that. :wink:

And I really did want to know what bike she rides!!! As soon as saw her post again, I remembered this thread. And I told her in the Mug thread that I had posted again in this thread. Of course, now that you all have piled on here and made it a much bigger thing, I worry you might have scared her away. :evil:
