True. In Netherlands better stick to Indonesian food, there are plenty Indonesian restaurants there due colonial history, like UK has curry houses everywhere, which is grand.
The Brits learned that from the Vikings, they conquered the world in order to try to find edible food.
Food isn't that exciting over here it's true, at least not traditional english food
cities are full of cuisine from all over the world. London must be one of the most diverse
cities in the world , and the food reflects that.i don't really know what traditional English food would be
sunday roast probably with Yorkshire puddings potatoes veg and gravy; and of course fish and chips
Fairly unimaginative meat and veg dishes ...... And pies and savoury puddings
I will fight on behalf of British cuisine. As well as a few well known classics - what we do really well is good seasonal fruit and veg and meat with better quality and welfare standards than many of our EU counterparts. And key to that is how we cook it - at home, if we cook a vegetable, we attempt to cook it to perfection without any adulterations - so if you give us fresh, good quality broccoli for example, we'd try to boil it briefly until it is just al dente with water and a tad of salt ... so you can taste the ingredient itself.
Go to most other European country and it will end up smothered in cream, butter, vinaigrette or a tomato sauce and you won't be able to taste the beautiful ingredient.
I prefer our way!
