    In Hog's Heaven

    I've spent the whole day driving back from visiting my sister in law and her bloke on the Belgium/Luxembourg border. And I've got a car boot full of their homemade ham from their pigs, wild blueberries, wildflower honey, amazing Belgian beer and nice French groceries from the hypermarché at Calais.

    Now watching the cricket highlights while eating an unbelievable supper.

    The best thing is that my partner and the kids are staying out til next week - so I'm enjoying some very rare peace & quiet too!

    Hog's heaven, pig's paradise, swine's sangria-la ... What ever you call it, I'm in it.

    If only they sold snus over there too!

    Sounds good mate, you could have nipped up to Sweden and got some snus, would have only added 24 or so hours to your trip!

      Hmmm!

      It's only worth it if I can keep nipping back to Luxembourg to fill up with diesel in a tax haven!

      £1 a litre there ...

          That's about what fuel is here. ~$3.70 per gallon or so. Sounds like a great trip Squeezy. Pretty cool being able to drive to different countries without hassle. I guess the EU's good for something after all.

              Sounds like a fantastic trip! Makes me want to live out of the trunk of your car for the next week

                You can well believe it ... although I expect that would have happened without the EU!

                I didn't even know I'd gone across the border in to Luxembourg - no signs or anything. Just a single track country road and suddenly a massive shopping centre that all the Belgians that live nearby do all their shopping in!

                And it's not as cheap as you get it there in the US. 1 Euro is about $1.33 so it's about $5 per gallon (US) but in the UK it's about $8.30 a gallon!

                  That reminds me of a picture I saw a while back. Some city around there. It was just a cobblestone street, with a white line painted on it. That was the border lol.
