Greed, ignorance and self interest is the Cancer that is destroying America, not the President. Most western pseudo-democracies are heading in the same direction.
Unfortunately the alternative forms of government on this God forsaken rock are even worse.

I'd love it if we got rid of political parties and held elections for random people. Seriously if you're a politician all your doing is figuring out what to say to get the largest number of people to vote for you. Some random guy that has some good ideas could completely change everything. Well that shit doesnt make sense lets stop doing that instead of.....well my american people the need to stop doing this is up for debate because of blah blah blah democrats blah blah blah socialism blah blah the consitution blah blah 9/11

Na PP you are doing just fine

That said.....I really think there is a fundamental agreement here between all the posts and we are merely differing on how we express it.

The agreement centers on the core values and founding principles that gave rise to the anthems, flags, and sacrifices made in the past for our country.

The difference is how we are interacting with those core values and our perceived loss of them. In this regard I think Blue made a great observation about the generational perspective.

Watergate and Vietnam changed our county in a way that is rivaled by only the Civil war (and I'm not sure if history will show that the fundamental impact of Watergate and Vietnam....the way it redefined our core understanding/trust/confidence of our country will not prove more profound than even the civil war).

Notice then..........my generation says the government behind the flag has forsaken its meaning and cannot be trusted.........therefore we are suspicious of their use of the old symbols and see it as a manipulative ploy

PP's generation says the government behind the flag has forsaken its meaning and cannot be trusted. They remember when the flag and songs and sacrifices all pointed to core values.....therefore they want to reclaim the flag and with it those values.

Thus to both generations the symbols point back to what has changed and may be in great danger of never being seen again.

-- The old folks yell don't forget....don't let go of what we have and who we are

--The young folks yell......don't get fooled......don't get sucked in.....the powers to be no longer mean what their symbols stand for

          That's all

Syrian rebels take responsibility for the chemical attack admitting the weapons were provided by Saudis

This is pretty intriguing with all the 9-11 evidence of Saudi involvment.

I think Obummer's handlers are trying to start WW3 in the wrong country.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I suppose I would fall into the old folks category (despite my age)... Then again..........

I'm not a pessimist, I'm an optometrist. Look at the grand scheme of things... Our nation is quite young, at the tender age of 237. To put things in perspective: We're still a teenage girl compared with the rest of the world. Sure, we **** up here and there... But that's what teenagers do -- they **** up, and they learn from their mistakes. Every nation in the world has experienced 'puberty'. We still have plenty of time to 'mature'...

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a bowl to clear.

The problem with obama is that he was a stupid man with stupid ideas that ran for president. The white population voted for him to show how "not racist" they were. The black population voted for him because jesse jackson and crew told them to and because they saw he was black and didnt care about what he said he would do, and the Hispanic population voted against him but unfortunately were not large enough in number to rescue us all from getting our heads trapped up our own asses.

Now we are anticipating starting world war 3 so we can stop syria from bombing itself. Even our allies think we should stay out of it. There are american's that are starving/ wallowing in poverty/ being victims of high numbers of crime because of incredibly low police forces. Why are we trying to "help" those that do not want it and ignoring our own people that have their own needs.

What does a missile cost? How much food can you buy for the cost of a missile, and the infrastructure to deliver it? It's alleged that 1,400 people were gassed. I'm not sure why we need to care about them, especially considering the people that were killed by other means, but how many starving people could be fed by diverting the cost of the missile deployment, assuming we want to get rid of money we don't have? I bet it's much more than 1,400...

We shouldn't be interfering with other countries. The world sucks for some. It always has, and it always will, but if we want to interfere, there's more productive ways of pissing away money, that don't piss off other people.

                          Eh?

                          2008

Hispanics voted for Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden over Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin by a margin of more than two-to-one in the 2008 presidential election, 67% versus 31%, according to an analysis by the Pew Hispanic Center of exit polls from Edison Media Research as published by CNN.
                          2012

Latinos voted for President Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney by 71% to 27%, according to an analysis of exit polls by the Pew Hispanic Center, a Project of the Pew Research Center.
As you can see, Hispanics are solid blue... Will that number jump to 75% in 2016? Stay tuned...

Carney Announces Changes To White House Press Protocols

Jay Carney, the president's paid liar, announced several changes in the protocols of the White House press conferences.
Due to a declining formality on the part of the press corps, new rules for dress are as follows: no pajamas, no chicken suits, no clown suits, dresses for women or others claiming to be women, suits for men or others claiming to be men.
When the president enters the press room, all press corps members will jump to their feet, clench their right fist, and raise their right arm and yell "Obama Akbar, Obama Akbar ...." until the president gives the all clear signal. Upon the presidents departure, the same action will be taken until he disappears behind the curtain.
Because press members have continued to ask unauthorized questions, in spite of being ordered otherwise, questions will be distributed to the press members 10 minutes before the press conference. Members should familiarize themselves with the assigned question, reading it aloud several times to ensure an acquired sense of spontaneity and confidence of delivery if called upon.
Press corps members are reminded of advances that have been made by the NSA and CIA in gathering information and remotely controlling automobiles. We and your families are counting upon your enthusiastic cooperation.

I truly believe every president should have to become a grand master at civilization 4 BTS.
The game seriously helps you understand consequences that, although seem unforseen, are totally obvious.
If i keep attacking the smaller weaker countries taking a city here and 2 cities there. The other nations are going to band together and bring me down.
If i keep giving other nations money and technologies and all kinds of other help, they will realize they can use me to become more advanced and take me down.
There is a perfect balance of both giving and telling others to figure it out themselves that exists but is different for a number of different scenarios.
There are also going to be other countries that will despise you no matter what. They will not be large in number and can easily be kept at bay as long as you and everyone else makes sure to band together if they get out of line (think of N Korea i guess as the best example)

The current mind-set of the U.S which i would call.....attack first tell others to **** off second can only work in one scenario.....if we are so large in number and power we can take on every single other nation on the planet at any given moment. Which if you have any common sense you realize we cant. Sure us and the Euro boys can all say ok we attack N Korea if it gets out of line but as soon as we go off on our own frivolous pursuits our unity is dashed.

Our war mindset is like that of a child's. You disagree with me so I'm going to "free" the shit out of you. China is communist, Sweden is a weird socialist/capitalist hybrid, we have to just accept that, and that any style of government can lead to the greatest nation if it is implemented correctly. Are we going to bomb China to a half-sized democracy? Why should we they're doing great on their own. Syria's got this shit going on....everyone else is staying out of it why shouldn't we? As easy as it could be to make it stop they have their own backers....Russia for example to name just one.

Why can't the U.S sit back and start to rebuild our own country. Sure our standard of living even in very poverty stricken areas is a lot better than some nations, but if we wanted all countries to be equal we wouldn't be a democracy in the first place. Remember that recession that caused unemployment to hit almost 10%, remember those banks that let people finance 400k houses when they wouldn't qualify for a 500$ credit limit discover card? Why don't we use the funds that would otherwise be used on war and use it to pay off deficits, keep a more watchful eye on firms that can cause our economy to collapse completely off the map, develop emerging marketplaces, and so much more.
