Unbelievable! Obama Closes Down the Atlantic Ocean!

Not all of it but he is closing 11,000 square miles of it, making it off limits to charter boat captains who operate out of the Florida Bay, in what can only be described as a shameless act against the American people at the hands of a president who is willing to inflict as much pain on as many as he can in order to achieve a political goal. Just before the weekend, the NPS notified charter captains of their latest outrage.
Besides closing national parks, Obama has gone after state parks, private businesses, Mt Vernon, and now the ocean. This is not about saving money during the government shutdown. Just the opposite, the NPS is spending more man hours and tons more money to make sure Americans don't enjoy those things they for with their taxes.

Right. Because of instead of working out a solution to the Obamacare disaster he created, its much easier to piss people off and then blame the GOP.

Not that I really like Obama but I have a feeling he hasn't been given a budget to sign yet so I am not sure how this is entirely his fault. As far as Obamacare, I will agree it seems a bit screwed up but almost anything will be an improvement over the medical system we have right now.

It's no reason to play games though. I don't exclusively blame Obama. Just about anyone else in office would play these games too, but it would be nice to have a leader that actually led for a change, rather than play games.

Obamacare's a load of shit. It's the current medical system, but mandated, and with a thick layer of greasy bureaucracy slathered on top. Half measures aren't gonna work with this. Either do it right, or don't do it at all.

The Federal shutdown only affects 17% of the government. Obama is picking and choosing items to shut down on the basis of how angry it will make certain groups of people. So yeah, shutting down access to the ocean, barricading WWII vets from national memorials, and turning off a free-to-operate "panda-cam" are his "fault" and are entirely unnecessary and politically motivated.

I'm an avid anti Obama guy, but even I know that Obama is not sitting in a room choosing items and places to close. There are tons of politicians who are making these calls and it's not just him, but I do know that the reason these things are happening is because democrats will not negotiate with republicans and Obama will defeat anything that sways toward the republicans so in that way he holds responsibility for the shut down, I also realize that he is making an all out effort to make sure the people know it's the republicans fault. I have never before seen a president make a speach and do nothing but blame the opposing party the way he did in the days before the shut down, it truly amazes me how the political agenda and total control goals are so far above their job duties and responsibilities.

That statement I agree with. In my opinion, we should just take over the entire medical system from the schools to the hospitals. No more insurance companies. Doctors will be able to graduate debt free. They should be paid well but not make a small fortune.

As far as leading the country, I am not sure if there is a way out of this mess. I can't believe we keep putting some of these people in office. We need term limits and very strict campaign finance laws.

True, but the republican side is trying to get obamacare overthrown, I think they are right for not budging as that healthcare system if out into place would nearly crumble the medical system and possibly the economy of the country, the government simply cannot afford to fund it and then anyone who doesn't buy in pays a penalty, how's that going to help anyone?

Four surgeons are comparing the type of patients they consider the easiest to operate on.
The first surgeon says, "I like to operate on electricians, because when you open them up everything is color coded."
The second surgeon says, "I prefer to operate on accountants, because when you open them up everything is numbered."
The third surgeon says, "I think librarians are the easiest to operate on because everything inside them is in alphabetic order."
The fourth surgeon says, "I've got you all beat. I like to operate on politicians best. They are by far the easiest because they have no guts, no heart, no spine and their head and behind interchangeable."
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Amber alert website down due to government shutdown

                      Government shutdown Beltway Confidential

The Amber alert system, the national missing-child warning program, has been shut off due to the government shutdown, according to the Department of Justice.
“Due to the lapse in federal funding, this Office of Justice Programs website is unavailable,” it says on amberalert.gov.
Just 17 percent of the government is shut down, and Friday the Obama administration allowed union representatives to return to work.
So, union members could return to work, but the website to alert Americans to missing children had to be taken down?

No loss. The Amber Alert system is a waste of money. They should just keep it offline. It's the same nonsense that says feeling up grandmothers in the airport prevents hijackings. It's a dog and pony show to make people think the government is "doing something".
