A Round of Applause for SnusOn ... and thanks team!

It took the recent hacking events which almost finished off SnusOn for me to realise quite how important the existence of this place is.


It's important for me, because I love the sense of community on here, and I value the ability to talk freely about the minority interest of Swedish smokeless tobacco ... and dare I say it ... the vibe of this place and wealth of knowledge knocks any other forums out there on the subject in to a cocked hat!


More importantly than how I feel about this place personally is how amazing a resource it is for people who are trying to quit smoking cigarettes that are deadly in the long run ... just pause to think about that for a minute!


Aside from all the fun stuff and banter - this forum has probably been instrumental in educating and encouraging members and lurkers alike to change their habits to snus … and has probably had the effect of increasing our collective life-expectancy by hundreds (if not thousands) of years!


There is a small but dedicated team working to keep this site running … beyond the admin, ice, and our moderators lxskllr, PP, Snusdog and Rick Charles … there's a further network of unsung SnusOn heroes dotted around the globe (I don't even know who they all are) … without them working their arses off recently we would not have this fine place to come and play in … and more importantly … people all over the world are more likely to extend their lives by becoming part of this family.


So I would encourage everyone to add to this thread to show just how much you appreciate everything this site is capable of doing … and is doing because we have such a brilliant team constantly making it happen!

Well put Squeezy!!! and I second the appreciation for our site, its members, and the admin that did amazing work to get it back up and running

I am also sure that some of our members really appreciate the Craig's list heads up...........I for one was glad to see it......only because if fleshlight did not appear in the first 3 posts.....I would be certain that a thread staying on topic......... together with a Brit expressing sentiment publically........ would be a sure sign that the site had been hacked once again

I think I can step in here and say....

On behalf of the mods at snuson I thank you guays for the kind words. The mods all try to do our part to keep things running smoothly in the threads. HOWEVER, its our dear admin behind the scenes here that is totally dedicated and fully responsible for keeping Snuson up and running on a daily basis. Without his tireless work Snuson WOULD NOT EXIST. When we got hacked a month or so ago he worked his ass off getting things back in order. Everything had to be put back in place and he took on all the responsibility to get it going again. He worked so hard here and he never really posts. He does this work for the members here and because he knows that, to put it bluntly, we are all helping to save lives. Stop a moment and think about that. Snuson is very important in this regard. There may still be a few glitches here and there and if anyone finds them just let the mods know so we can let the admin know, or PM the admin directly and explain the problem. He is almost always here to ensure that technically things are in top shape. I just can't begin to tell you how hard he worked and our dear admin deserves all the credit. We all owe him a debt of praise. He IS the man. Everyone of us needs to thank him. He deserves all the credit.

With that said......some of you may notice that in the past few months there have been some slight changes to the site. I simply mentioned to the admin that it would be nice to have an online translator. BOOM!! The next day we had one for our foreign speaking members. That's incredible. Think of all the additional members and guests that can now learn about snus. I asked that the chatbox button be shown on the top line on every page we go to so we can go directly there easily. BOOM!! The next day it was there. The list goes on and on. No other forum has an admin that does things that we suggest so quickly....or even bothers to do them at all. WE are so freaking lucky to have that man with us.

From the bottom of my dieing heart I thank the Lord for this man and his efforts and dedication to every one of the members.

Good to see you guys back up. It's my understanding SnusCENTRAL.org will be back up soon as well (if not already).

I'm sure they didn't attack us at GoSmokeless.org because our forum doesn't have as many members as this one or SnusCENTRAL, but it's still pretty crazy that someone would take the time and effort to try to bring down websites that are devoted to snus, harm reduction, and helping people quit smoking.

I had to say it, but I wouldn't put it past the cigarette folks for doing something like this. They see our growth in numbers and they definitely have the cash flow to do it. I know Snubie.com was attacked last year but thankfully my site is small and I was able to restore from a backup within 30 minutes of it happening.
