    the story so far...

so 2 weeks in and I figured I'd post my story so far along with a couple questions.

First off, I love snus!!! It's been nothing but awesome! I'm smoking less and less each day! And was in heaven the first time I was in the theater snussing and enjoying the movie because I had no cigarette cravings!

So about a week in I erperienced burning in the guns along with terrible salty wrinkly lip. A week later and it's gone. I guess that's typacl break in period is that a typical reaction? I noticed my lip is now nice and broken in. I hesitate to call it a callusing but not sure what else to call it. My lip is just far lass sensative to the salt. It's nice

So now I only notice a tiny sore on one side of my gums. It's teeny and is completely painless. But I can feel it if I run my tongue over it. Not a big deal I figure? Otherwise things seem just fine. In fAct I might even say my lip and gums look rather healthy as of late. Go figure

So I'm wondering about spoiled snus. I noticed my can of ettan has lost it's flavor this morning. Is that the typical sign that it's spoiled or just gone bad or what? It's a bit dry as I've been rifling through many flavors and left my cans out a few days. How do you tell if a can is no longer good?

That's it so far. It's been an awesome trip so far! Oh and snus+coffee=heaven

My gums were a little sensitive when I first started too... It helps to alternate sides when you can, or avoid the sensitive side for a day or so...

As far as spoiled snus, I don't know because I haven't had any for long enough to spoil... Your can should have an expiration date on it... I have noticed that sometimes I will produce more saliva than other times which can alter that flavor some...

Same here when I first started but, with portions, it goes away. I just started with los and it seems it started again. It must be because I can keep em' in longer than portions. (2 hrs at least) some have stated here that as long as they are kept cold, you can have a can last a bit beyond the "best by" date. I've also read here that if they do dry out, you can add a few drops of H2O to bring them back to life. Portions, that is. Hope this helps.

Snus doesn't "spoil" in the sense that it becomes harmful, but if it sits around awhile the flavor drops off a bit. You can remoisten it, as Airwoodstock said, but the flavor never comes back to where it was when it was new.

Hey bud, if you're gums are sensitive I recommend Goatesburg Rape. This is an ultra fine cut snus that doesn't bother the gums at all: its also delicious.

To rejuvenate snus, you can put it in the bathroom with the shower running ultra hot and let the steam remoisturize it. Or you can just spray it with water (preferably distilled).
