Dogs align themselves with Earth’s magnetic field when it comes time to poop

Dogs have been found to be sensitive to Earth's magnetic field, and apparently align themselves along the magnetic north-south axis before they defecate. Czech and German researchers studied 70 dogs during 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations over the course of two years, and found that when the Earth's magnetic field was stable the dogs chose to align themselves with it. When it was unstable, such as during a solar flare, the dogs would become confused.

North Korean leader fed uncle to starving dogs, report says

The execution of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's uncle was more brutal than initially reported, according to a Beijing-controlled newspaper, which said the country's second-most-powerful figure was thrown into a cage filled with starving dogs and eaten alive.
The Singaporean Straits Times cited a report from Wen Wei Po, a Beijing-control newspaper, that said Jang Song Thaek and five close associates were stripped and fed to 120 dogs that had not eaten for three days. The entire process, witnessed by 300 senior officials, lasted for about an hour, the report said. Fox News could not immediately verify the report.

I know y'all are going to laugh, but now that I think about it, in the houses I have lived in, the process went faster and smother when the toilet had a north-south alignment.

I poop facing West...since I'm in Massachusetts I'm looking towards most of y'all.
My crapper at work faces west also...had to think about that for a minute. At least it's consistent.
I'd say so long as I orient my arse to the bowl things work out just fine.

Just 'cos it's interesting, can anyone here with a dog take note and confirm if it's true for you too...or them?

Unfortunately my beloved dog passed away a few years ago. But now that I think about it she would always poop facing the same direction just in different areas of the yard. Not really sure how she was effected when we moved cross country since I was no longer the one taking her out and she died shortly after

Looking out my window, I watched intently, as my neighbor walked his dog. (I have a cat, who craps in whatever direction I've placed his box, based on thorough testing due to this thread). My neighbor's dog stopped, sniffed, spun around three times exactly, and crapped while facing east. However, my neighbor was facing north when he bent to pick up the dog crap.
