Even as we speak, the Syrian rebels have fought the Syrian government to a standstill using mostly handheld weapons. The Assad government has tanks, jet fighters and attack helicopters. Even with this advanced weaponry, the government has not yet prevailed.

To be fair the Syrian government never had much approval to begin with. Also there is an alarmingly high number of people who still side with obama and all of his dictator like policies. Just like the video said and everyone will tell you....Hitler didn't become president/king whatever germany had before him by telling everyone his plan. He tried to be a man of the people. It's when they actually get that position that they try to scoop up more and more power just like obama is currently doing. Eventually people will give him so much they will lose the ability to take it back. When his next term is up I will not be surprised if he tries to declare himself king.

With all of that said the U.S is a little different than Syria. If a bunch of people want to rise up and let the government know they have handguns it won't be that hard to find a few people loyal to the government willing to drop a few missiles from a drone. Our next president should be some random guy. All being a politician gets you is the ability to become president without a good idea of how to actually be the leader of a nation. Has anyone ever run for president with the premise of "I will look at current issues and make my best judgement on how to resolve them while at the same time trying to not create a new problem or put a new group of people in a bad place."

We are currently losing to a bunch of dudes with AKs and IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan. We lost Vietnam.

Also, the discussion about iceland assumes we could import Iceland's population into the USA. Icelandic folks are a whole lot different than those of the US.

It's funny the countries like Iceland/norway/sweden/denmark have this history of being incredible warfaring vikings and now they have the lowest crime/remain netural/ and even are the biggest supporters of gender equality while people like the US lead the way in crime and pretty much everything else that you don't want to be number one at.

Gentlemen, we don't have to riot in in the streets. All we need to do is vote the bums out. We can replace every single Congressman in November and one third of the Senators too.

That could work, if we had campaign spending limits, required voter education and ID, and had term limits.
Otherwise, the most money or the prettiest always wins.

They should start thinking of holding these things in places other than the crime capital of the world. I know thats where our national government is....but it's not like every congressman is just hanging out in DC full time.

Under a Obama or Hillary regime I think you would have quite a number of military defectors and that gear on the patriot side. Probably end quickly with new borders allover the USA.

Under a Jeb Bush or Chris Christie administration patriot fighters will be relying on planting millions of IED's, small ambushes and a long drawn out revolution.
