If someone that wants to learn about snus they want the snus forum informative. I'm willing to bet 90% of the members here found snsuon thru google or another search engine.

Snuson is not a small site. There are costs and atm those costs are fully paid by the owner. We figure that as time goes on those costs will increase and may become a burden on the owner so we anticipate that one day ads may be necessary. Keep in mind that 100% of the ads will be tobacco related, ie from vendors, manufacturers etc. There will never be google ads here. There won't be crap popping up and stuff. The list will be there and if you want to get to a site quickly it will be easy. We are hopeing that after this "shower and shave" the advertizers will come to us.....if the front end is cleaned up a bit they may offer snuson members special deals, samples, and such. I can imagine that they might hesitate to advertise here because of the snus threads not staying on topic and the general banter in the snus forums. We have the people and the world forum and the chatbox for that. Lets try to keep the snus forums inviting to everyone.

I don't really understand the need of toning things down. Even if snus turns into a big thing here in the US it's not like every user will ever even google the stuff.
Also how in the world would a small site like this cost so much in maintenance that one generous maker couldnt sponsor it?
I don't really care about the change I have a great adblocker it just seems to go against what everyone rants about in the political posts.

I've just personally never been able to tell from what board a thread is coming from. I always just use the most recent list. If i want to get one back up on the board because I have a question I just go to my recent posts to find it. Unless that is somehow reworked it just seem like a lot of work to make sure i don't get baned because i was slightly off topic in a board that may or may not allow that. Atleast once a week we are graced by a "new with questions" thread. This forum does a great job of not doing the typical "sigh use the search box there are hundreds of these threads" I just don't see who we are deterring by talking about fleshlights and blue barrels, we aren't exactly expecting the pope to become a member.

I've just personally never been able to tell from what board a thread is coming from. I always just use the most recent list. If i want to get one back up on the board because I have a question I just go to my recent posts to find it. LOL, bro...you'll not be banned for getting "slightly" off topic...ever, but if a member continually tries to derail a thread, or the tries to take the thread away from the OP's original intent, you'll probably be asked to redirect. A ban for something of this nature would only come after being warned and the offending member continued to do whatever it is that the mod asked them to stop doing.

As for, "who are we deterring", that's just it...we may never know just how many people we've kept away with some of the topics here. While this is a public forum, it is privately owned...and the owner of the forum wants to clean it up, so that's what we'll do. I can't see how doing so will prevent anyone from speaking his (or her) mind in a respectful gentlemanly manner. See, we're like a weirdo family...we can talk to one another a certain way and not be offended, but a new member lurking in the shadows, waiting for a chance to jump in...may be offended by it. I see the owner's point, so I'm going to comply, and still have fun. We have to remember that while this place is our personal playground (so to speak), we are first and foremost a resource for new users of snus to come and learn, make new friends and help spread the good word.

1) wa3zrm's name is Bob (though we are not yet clear on whether this is a family name ...or due to some exceptional gift of buoyancy)

2) Lx is wearing homemade chain mail and by now is probably wishing he had remembered to put a shirt on under it

3) Sandman has some unsightly sores on his warrior of love that may or may not be due to a miscalculated urination-fire pit ratio

4) Squeezy was plagerised without being given the decency of hitting spell check first (and as a consequence may have to spend the next 3 days in the "Americans are Dumb" thread--with other bad spellers)

5) Whalen wants to know what others are wearing.....which in all likelihood probably means he is wearing nothing.

So.....in conclusion.......as we look this all over.........let me ask you.......what exactly has change.....aside from the fact that we are all talking about what has changed.

95% of what we do will go unaltered............3% will just be relocated out of the public arena.......the remaining 2% will simply be asked to say the same thing in a more respectful and productive manner......verses merely bashing someone or flaming out.......which I think all of us will agree that we can do without.

Now all that said and done......... on a more serious note.........Squeezy.........Our new Editor of the Snuson Articles section should have asked your OK before using your review as an article. We will make sure that in the future that courtesy will be extended to our members. In the meantime, please know that there has been a lot of work behind the scenes and I am sure we will find a few more wrinkles that need to be ironed out.......and I am equally sure that the lot of you will point them out to us as soon as they are discovered.....with the same glee and morbid delight that my wife has when she points out that we are indeed lost and that I should have stopped and asked for directions when she told me to.....man....when I find the "Ban Your Wife" button on the mod tool belt....it is going to be a happy day............
