Wouldn't it be better to teach people about anal and possible......medical problems that could arise from it rather than having some kids say "holy shit i just thought of something, why don't i put it in there."

I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Forget about the things we're teaching our children... What about the things we are NOT teaching our kids?
The metric system. Celsius scale. Cursive.
I was taught all three when I was growing up. These days, few school districts bother. It's not deemed necessary.

No child left behind was a big reason why our education system is how it is. I was in the "advanced" group in my grade school class. We learned things that basically set us up to have most of the knowledge we needed for the next year. Then everyone was in one big group. I was back to learning things i had learned the year before and the people that didn't want to learn only slowed things down since we all needed to be at the same level.
Most recently would be our countries ridiculous rewards program. Everyone gets a trophy, everyone is the best, noone is willing to set their kid down and say no you can't have that or you're not the best baseball player. Everyone's child is the smartest most athletic person ever. Earning a C is not your child's fault it's the teachers so you're gonna march down there and let them have it because Jr knows everything. There is a reason why only 53% of people finish college within 6 years. Because 47% of people were convinced they were the smartest while growing up, but really had no business being in college. I went to school with a kid that was...good at basketball certainly was not going to be a professional athlete. He ended up getting a small scholarship at a big university and they red-shirted him so he transferred and that school did the same and this summer he will be at his 6th college within 4 years absolutely convinced that he will make it to the NBA because everyone told him he would noone was able to tell him "you're a good basketball player from a small town that can win against other small towns, thats it."
Within a few years our entire workforce will be filled with over-privileged douche bags that think they deserve to be CEO within a year of graduating from college because their parents convinced them that's how the world works, they just get whatever they want. Everyone is just astounded that someone would dare tell their child someone is better at spelling, basketball, history than them. When you're raised being told that, why would you think any different? I blame the parents but still a large portion of the blame falls on these young douches that think they deserve whatever they want. Our country needs a huge wake-up call before we start falling behind even more. No wonder the world hates us.

We would probably sign then up for welfare and register for them to vote in chicago instead though.
