London is an uglier suburb of Paris!!!

London is an uglier, more dangerous 'suburb of Paris' claims French politician

A leading French politician described London as a ‘suburb of Paris’ today as the two cities continued a war of words over which is the most popular in the world.
Anne Hidalgo, who until recently was President Francois Hollande’s Socialist culture minister before running for mayor of the French capital, said there was more crime in the English capital, less entrepreneurial businesses starting up, and fewer foreign visitors.
But she did concede that there was more dog waste on Paris pavements, and that notoriously rude Parisians 'should be kinder'.
UK-based tourist agency Visit Britain claimed London broke the 16-million visitor bar last year, with Paris attracting 15.9 million people.
But in an angry riposte, Paris city hall put out a statement today saying the figures were utterly misleading.

    Zose crazy Français ... Bof!

Personally, having spent quite a lot of time in both cities I would have to conclude that both London and Paris are dirty, depressing, overpriced capital cities with some nice tourist attractions in the middle of them.

Although the world's absolute wealthiest people can live anywhere they want almost everyone of them has a place in London.

New York, Tokyo, and Dubai are also in the running (many others too) but for some reason: London is a must city for the mega rich.

London is still the largest financial center in the world which is why the planet's wealthiest usually have a presence there. Paris isn't even close in that particular regard.

I think Paris confuses the people that still get their regular wage for 2 years after being fired as tourists. I can understand that living in a capital city can be frustrated with those "stupid tourists" that come and "ruin the atmosphere" but the people of Paris are absolute assholes, they act ruder than even the people of Brooklyn in any given situation

I like the french rudeness ... it wouldn't be so exotic hopping over the channel without it!

Actually the french are normally perfectly polite if you speak decent french ... but they hate it when you expect them to understand engish (even if they do understand it)

Parisians on the other hand ... well even the rest of France thinks they're rude and hates them! Parisians have first class degrees from the Sorbonne in rudeness - but Londoners can be a close second in my experience. I think it's got more to do with big city living than anything else.

Everybody wants to live in London and as a result the starting prices for a three bedroom house in my area are now 739,500 dollars. We can't afford to live here any more - but there is another bubble happening. It's going to burst at some point in the next couple of years and there'll be trouble again.

Frenchists are always jealous of us, they are inferiour in every way, and Paris is always on fire/strike/marches/protesting and they are the most stuck up pretentious twats the whole world has ever seen! Yet there are truest wonderful little cafés and shops in the less touristy areas where the Parisians are as friendly and welcoming as you could want.

Sounds like Seattle prices, except we have salmon.

                    so.....you are in Seattle?

                    who would have thought?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

You've got to admire the way that the mayors of the towns and villages keep strict regulations on the French style of architecture - unlike Britain after the war...........we just built anything that came into our heads.

First, I showed up in both London and Paris with a back pack and rail pass.....I did not hop off a USA Tour buss.

I found both the Brits and the French to be extremely friendly.......I tried my best to speak french but did not pretend like I was fluent....and they seemed very sympathetic and helpful.

Once the Brits found out I was from South Carolina (a loyalist colony)....absolutely nothing happened....but when I bought everyone at the pub a pint.....friends for life

I loved both countries.........France to visit......England to live
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
