So the USA and UK can prance all over the world, invading sovereign countries to protect 'their interests' (a load of bo**ocks) but it seems the Russians cannot defend their national interests.
The Russians are allowed up to 25,000 troops in the Ukraine - they have 16,000 there presently. Nobody has killed anybody apart from the Ukranian police force. A huge amount of the population identifies with Russia. The 'deposed' fugitive president as far as Russia is concerned is still the President until he is impeached. Putin agrees that Yanukovych has no political future but the proper constitutional processes must be followed. President Putin: Ukraine should approve a new constitution through a referendum, but this is "none of our business", only Ukrainians can decide.
Why are the media and politicians feeding us a load of tripe against Russia?
For me, this is none of our business whatsoever and should stay well out of the way and my sympathies lie with the Ukraine and Russia - not with the Western politicians or media.

I wonder why the U.S didn't feel this way about ourself when we were in iran, iraq, afghanistan, Libya etc. Russia can get this stuff to end and stop the ongoing riots or whatever point it is at now. Let them clean up and help the Ukraine start anew.

Sanctions won't work against Russia. Putin wants his nukes back (and to keep the country on the side of Russia). Depending on the next moves, we may have a second cold war on our hands.

It's going to be proposed sanctions and rolling back diplomacy with the Rooskis, but it will only serve as symbolic gestures (it won't have any lasting impact on Russia). So if sanctions don't work, then what's the next card played? Tough choice.

We shouldn't be playing any cards. Unless some historical reading is done into the relationship and ethnicities between Russia and Ukraine it should be left alone. The average western chump on the street will have no chance of understanding this one and that's what annoys me intensely. Any support given to western sanctions will be tolerated by the gimps that swallow everything that is told to them on their television by whatever media station they watch.

Ukraine doesn't have any nukes. I thought that they gave them back to Russia in 1994. That was part of the Budapest Memorandum, where Russia promised them political independence. Russia lied, I guess.

But Russia have stated clearly that political independence is what they wish for the Ukraine. They just want to make sure it is done properly and doesn't end up with a civil war on their door step. I think Russias response has been very sane.

The west needs to take a close look at the Ukrainian interim government and question why they are so keen to recognise a government largely made up of many individuals with questionable legitimacy and with far right backgrounds.

War between Ukraine and Russia is out of the question.
The stand off today with Russian and Ukranian troops at the air base was potentially a very dangerous situation. The Ukranian officer should have grown a brain cell when he challenged the Russian officer. If I was his commander I would have pulled his teeth out with pliers because he would have known these statistics

This is really a bad situation for the Ukrainian people to be in because on one side you have the US/ZIONIST bankers and puppets ready to dig in while on the other the same old Russkies with their corrupt golden mansions which guarantee slave wages for the majority.

They would be better off legislating a permanent presence for the Russian military while also enacting strict immigration/national language laws similar to the baltic countries.

You have to give something to get something in my opinion.

I am hopeful that the military show of force is about over. The name calling and finger-pointing will continue. I don't expect the sanctions will hurt Russia very much. If Russia were to cut off it's natural gas supply half of Western Europe would be shivering in the dark. Would any European leader want to risk that?
