whats this?.....more of the hope and CHANGE that obummer promised us? Just another excuse to raise taxes I suppose. Time will tell.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

            Ugggg

Springing forward is always like a government mandated hangover

            :sour:
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Instead of falling back and springing forward why dont we just accept that the sun comes up later and goes down earlier during the winter? I understand the whole concept of changing times but it was for the sole purpose of helping those in an industry that hardly exists anymore. Coupled with the fact that Arizona, parts of Indiana and I can imagine a few other places don't observe it, the whole things seems like more of a tradition rather than a necessary thing. Everyone embraces the extra hour of sleep they get when we fall back despite the fact most people waste it by staying up 2 hours later, and then everyone complains when we lose an hour however many months later. We don't make people work from 10-8 during the winter because it's too cold in the morning so why change the clocks for something that is basically just a traditional thing.

Yeah, I would rather roll with the sunlight changes and stick with same time. However, I do admit I do enjoy the fall rollback, it is the spring forward that is like a forced hangover, as snusdog aptly labeled.

btw, we needed this reminder on Saturday....haha We were late for a bday party on Sunday. We all stayed up later than normal on Saturday of course and paid the price on Sunday and feeling it today, as well. The 1 hr is a bigger adjustment than it would seem.

I believe the sole reason for these time shifts is the fact that the powerful need to remind the masses regularly who the master is and who will obey even in the total basics like the time of the day.

Like a man smacking his dog.

In Europe we still have a few weeks of normal time left before we get smacked, too

Just think about it in the context of today's world. We (people that matter) are aware that the sun in not out as long during the winter and is out for a longer time during the summer. I know there are several of us that have been dead tired at 8pm some time during the summer but you can't sleep because the f'ing sun is still up. You just adjust. Instead of doing this whole time change thing just keep it the same. That way everyone doesn't have that one clock that they just remember is an hour off, people don't lose an hour on a random sunday (I work sundays, but it didn't bother me) and we can lay this whole thing to rest. I think it was Franklin that came up with the idea and it totally made sense at the time but it really doesn't now. Why continue this unnecessary thing?

I think I read somewhere that the governments say they "do it for the children".
