I hope you guys in Minnesota get medical cannabis soon. Its only a matter of time.

    ------------

I was looking into the cannabis laws in Minnesota, and I found this interesting bit from the MPP:

Currently pending in the Minnesota Legislature are two interesting proposals. Rep. Phyllis Kahn (DFL – Minneapolis) has a bill, HF 662, which would regulate the production of medical marijuana for export to states with medical marijuana programs. Although this bill has little chance of passing, it could reignite the medical marijuana debate.

Minnesota medicine being grown for export to medical cannabis states? That would be interesting. I don't think I've tried medicine from that region.

The second intriguing bill also comes from the desk of Rep. Kahn. HF 479, a bill that would specify that the weight of water from a pipe may not count towards the weight of any controlled substance for the purposes of personal possession. A similar bill overwhelmingly passed through the Minnesota Legislature last session, only to be vetoed by then-Governor Tim Pawlenty (R). With strong bi-partisan support on this issue and a new governor, this bill seems to have a real chance of becoming law.

I don't know what to say about that...

I'm all for it, I guess.

YES!! Finally someone else. I quit smoking weed years ago because of this. For the first few years everything was fine. Would just chill out to some music, video games, movies, etc... But then one night I had a terrible onset of anxiety followed by a panic attack. Thought it was an isolated incident and continued to smoke weed, yet everytime I would become overwhelmed with paranoia and guilt about personal relationships, family, friends, co-workers, etc...

That's when I chose alcohol over weed.

Both should be legal (not just here, but everywhere).

We have serious conservative thinking from Republicans/Democrats here and the new Governor a Democrat also said he would side with what law enforcement wants, (which the majority here want it kept as a controlled substance). It will take some time but have no doubts that it will be available after other states pass legislation and see it's not a big deal.

MN grown? not sure on how well that will work unless they create giant greenhouses.

I work for a US company, they were all pissed off about this, i even failed 5 drug tests for them. I had to get alot of paper work from my Doctor explaining to them that yes i use cannabis, yes i need it, yes this is the only thing that really works, and yes this will not affect my job.

I got moved to Operations Manager LOL Crazy shit man.

Lol, yah over here they dont give a **** if your prescribed it by a doctor or not. No means no because it is legal on the state level but still illegal on the federal level. Obama has really cracked down on states with medical marijuana too, especially here in california, his DOJ is just raiding legit dispensarys and everyone they catch in there at the time, they steal all of their money and product and arrest everyone. I gotta find a link for you real quick about some revelations that came out last week about shit they were doing down here, they are terrorizing us over here.

National Cancer Institute scrubs “anti-tumoral effect” of cannabinoids from website

You may recall last Wednesday when we pointed out this incredible paragraph on the website of the National Cancer Institute at cancer.gov, on their general information about medical cannabis, touting its antitumoral effects:

The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. In the practice of integrative oncology, the health care provider may recommend medicinal Cannabis not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct antitumor effect.

NCI apparently got a talking to from someone, because now that page has been scrubbed of any reference to the direct antitumoral effects of cannabis:

The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. Though no relevant surveys of practice patterns exist, it appears that physicians caring for cancer patients who prescribe medicinal Cannabis predominantly do so for symptom management.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think some people can get cannabis as medicine in very special cases here in Norway. It's illegal for any other purposes. I think it should be legal, as many people use it anyway, but if it's sold at a licenced outlet, the users know what they get.

                            Ain't that the truth!

I personally don't use marijuana. I actually kind of hate it, and can't stand being around people that are high. (They annoy me.) But I will fight to the death for your right to smoke it or whatever else you want to in the privacy of your own home or at a "pot bar" or any reasonable location.

As long as you're not killing babies and grinding up their bones to smoke out of your bong, the government shouldn't have any right to tell you what you can or can't put in your body, whether it be reefer, snus or formaldehyde. And I think that anyone that feels the same should vote Libertarian during the next election. It may not accomplish anything major, but it will still send a message.

I've seen it a couple times. seems to be a little one sided at times, but it was interesting.

DOCUMENTARY DVD: When We Grow… This Is What We Can Do -Cannabis-

                                http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/when-...hat-we-can-do/

When we grow is a documentary about cannabis in the UK. It looks at the history of the plant, the facts, its many uses and the laws and politics surrounding it.
Follow two young filmmakers on a shoe string budget, as they try to unravel what prohibition of cannabis really means, who it affects, who profits from it and why it was prohibited in the first place.
Featuring interviews with; a cannabis activist, a hydroponic grow shop owner, a cannabis dealer, a professor of neuropsychopharmacology, who just so happens to be a former government drugs policy advisor and a medical marijuana user who would rather die than live without it.
