Benchmade model 950 Rift knife review.

I know there are some knife and gun guys and gals on here. You guys have been kind enough to check out my new gear review blog and we thank you.

Jon, my best buddy, got the Benchmade 950 recently as a gift, and gave it a glowing review on our blog last week. I picked mine up today, it retails for about $192 USD, but I got mine at a warehouse store for $132+tax and I'm loving it. I swear we're just collector-enthusiasts and not sleazy Benchmade schills! !!
Anyway, if anyone is interested in our thoughts on this fine tool, you know where to go ^^^
thanks for the plug, sorry if off topic!!!

Does that guy come in a standard blade?

My last benchmade was a combo blade, but the serrated edge dulled out WAY too fast.

My next folder is going to be straight only

Xobeloot; Yes, I think the plain edge version is a little bit less$ and either one is available with a grey bead blasted blade as opposed to their newest 'super coating' BK1. I liked their BT2 old black teflon coating, pretty sure they stopped using it h
tough cuz people were complaining that it rubbed off. What wasn't realized, is that with a teflon coated blade, the stuff supposedly penetrates the pores of the steel and protects against rust, even if the color rubs off. the new coating is supposed to be tougher all 'round. I went to the Benchmade factory this spring and bought one of their 'Red Box' Chinese or Taiwan produced folders, the Vex, I think it's called. It's pretty good, though the steel is pretty hard to resharpen without a power-grinder, which supposedly voids the lifetime warranty. I'm parital now too to plain blades for ease of touch up sharpening, sorry to bombard with detail. FYI: knifecenter.com has pretty good prices and one of the better selections on the web, they are the buysnus of knife sites, but even more reliable as they are in the USA.
