My brother had one of those...it was a fun ride. Was that the last rotary engine car?

My first car was a Jeep CJ7 Renegade. Was a rust bucket, fixed the rust and drove for a few years but it was not a good option for winter even though it was a hard top and 4wd, as it was too light and had a narrow wheel base plus the defrost was terrible and got very low gas mileage, so not a practical car at all for comfort, safety, or the budget. I then went thru a string of Saab's 5 in all from Saab 99 to Saab 900's, then a Honda then nothing but Toyota's since.

over here that was a Ford Capri, the V6 ones still have cult status and are amazingly tuneable.

A V8 Golf! Damn... I'll bet if you put wings on the thing it would fly Was it the same size as the ones they made over here? If so, about 1/3 of the car would have been an engine!

Not a V8 (I wish) it was the 8 valve engine version rather than the 16 valve, 1.8 4 cylinder engines, the V6 golfs didn't show up until the late 90s. The cars were the same, but the GTi could fly over bumps,MIT was so light and handled like a demon, it was amazing!

No, the RX-8 was...I'm not sure when they stopped making that.

I love aircooled Vdubs. They were marvels of practical engineering, and super fun, if not super fast to drive. I've had a couple buses, a beetle, and I still have broken down Thing in the garage. I've had an offer on buying he Thing, but I can't locate the title. Tbh, I haven't looked that hard either. I'd love to drive it again. It was great to drive, but I haven't worked on it in >20 years. I should sell it to someone who'll give it the love it deserves.
