If you include family rides then I started with a wood paneled Plymouth station wagon v8. I totaled it by running into a huge tree on a snowy day traveling at a speed far above the speed limit not hurt personally. I ran home across the park crying like a 10 yr old...pathetic but true. I also had the privilege of driving a pea green chevette.

They did make a rotary engined rx7 before they shoehorned the V6 twin turbo engine Into it in it's later life, it had a habit of going wrong though.

It wasn't all that cushy. I bought it from my brother for $250. It was a good deal, but he ragged it out pretty good before I got it. I like those old school wagons. It's a shame they don't make an equivalent anymore. Minivans are the replacement I guess. I never understood why they never put a minivan body on a SUV chassis. The later model Durangos almost got there, but not quite. They didn't use the sliding door.

They are valuable.......asking prices, so who knows what the actual values are but jeez, they probably sold originally for $ 2,500(?).

My two buses were both campers, but older than the new style. My first was a 73, and the second was a 71. Very exciting to drive on the highway on windy days :^D

OK....I don't understand a damn thing about this thread...........what I do have so far is this……..

piks drove into a frozen tree/lake/whatever.....

Lx is somehow exempt from the establishment tag....due to a price-suspension ratio loophole............

and wa3zrm wanted some kind of car……but to be honest I have not googled which one it was

So to save myself time….I’m just calling bullshit on all of this….if it didn’t have wood paneling on it…..no one cares………

if it did have wood paneling ….but nonetheless you drove it in to something frozen….you still loose

Bottom line: we need double ds and long brown hair (pics or it never happened)……..otherwise no one gives a rat’s ass

I'd love to find a camper version in the $5K range... just to use on nice summer weekends. I'm a member here: http://www.westfalia.org/

So what you are saying is that your ride was less like the brochure and more like this one....

Reminds me of the Griswald's Wagon Queen Family Truckster from the movie.

haha...one my early cars was a SaaB 99. I asked a real snooty woman that worked with my dad what she thought about SaaB's, as I was looking at one and she said they are so cool. Well I bought my rusty Saab with no headliner and took it proudly to my dads office, her jaw basically dropped and said that is not what I hand in mind as a Saab. I was still as proud as sh*t, as I planned to restore it. I took it to body shops for estimates and they literally would outright laugh or at least chuckle and say something like what do you want me to do with it...basically inferring I had nothing to work with. I had the last laugh though. The engine ran strong and I picked up a perfect condition 99 from a dealer. It was sitting in the back lot and I was advised it had a bad engine and was for parts only. I got it for $400.00 put in my engine and I was styling and people were asking where did I get the cool car.

                            This was basically it...

Started with a 94 Buick Le Sabre. I was king of high school with a trunk that could fit 3 kegs in it. A gift from my grandfather right before he bought a new 08 Viper. Sold the Le Sabre and gave him the cash right before me and the family moved cross country. Had an 06 Taurus after that that was very fond of never working if it was too hot, too cold, or any other temperature. It didn't get much better after I was an idiot and didn't yield on green, truck came out of nowhere.

Bought a 13 Kia Optima EX just shy of a year ago. Love it. Air conditioned seats are the future.

That's closer than you could imagine. Mine was originally Black, but my brother painted it white cause it was hot as hell in the summer(no ac). It looked a little better than that one, but had some rust on the rockers, and a spot on the front of the hood.
