The only hope I can see for a lasting peace is to split Iraq into three sovereign nations. The different tribes and sects cannot live together without constant conflict and bloodshed.

1.) Kurd Land in the north.

2.) Sunni Land in the center

3.) Shia Land in the south

If your statement were true, we'd have already moved right into Iraq and taken over the oil fields, but we didn't. These private companies benefit as does the Iraqi Oil ministry, from their involvement together. These companies neither run our gov't, nor do they direct the actions of our military? Are you pissed because these companies aren't Slovakian, lol? I mean, it's not like we went into Iraq and set up the United States of America Oil Company and are simply stocking our federal oil reserves, NOW there's an idea? Our soldiers died, as did other country's men (not Slovakian BTW) and I think they deserve to be repaid for their sacrifice. Now, in a country that is rich in two things, oil and sand, which do you think makes the most sense?

True! And there's nothing wrong with protecting the flow of oil anywhere. Until a viable alternative comes up, most people would be sitting naked and hungry in the dirt without it.
The US gets the most of its oil from non- Mideast countries, anyway.
