Hot on the heels of the viral “Catcalling” video in which a young woman walked around New York City, the way people do, and men said all manners of things to her, the way men do, there’s now another social experiment sparking a similar conversation about how vulnerable women are treated in public. “Drunk Girl in Public” features a girl pretending to be drunk on the streets of Hollywood trying to find her way home and instead, finding that a bunch of men want to take her to their place.
In some cases she goes up to a guy to ask for help, but most of them seem to be able to sense her helplessness from a mile away and by the time they say “hello” to her, the whole thing is so creepy and cringeworthy that you start to consider whether or not you truly ever need to leave your house again. The girl asks them how to get to the nearest bus, and the men offer to take her to their own homes where they plan to ply her with more beer. The worst part is how transparent these men are in their skeevy aggressiveness and how immediately they seem to be able to drop whatever they were doing the rest of the day because they now have a helpless drunk woman standing in front of them.

Just some clarification. Although it is not disclosed (on purpose) the men in the first video are under the impression that they are participating in a low budget film for students at a local college. Haven't been here for awhile so I'm not sure if it has made it here but this is all part of a thing called "gamergate." Basically some girl that made a terribly unplayable game screwed a bunch of game reviewers for positive reviews. When this was uncovered a bunch of women seeking attention started to spout a bunch of diarrhea out of their mouths about "misogamy" and "the patriarchy" in video games that they never played. Then they started sending "anonymous" threats to themselves which made the people who just wanted to play games look like assholes.

The whole thing has spiraled way out of control of what it originally was and now it's given rise to this kind of odd new wave feminism where the idea isn't to make women equal to men but to basically enslave white straight males. Now a bunch of videos like these are being made to push some agenda that if you are a straight white male you are a rapist and should be killed enslaved or put into jail because your physical characteristics mean you are a rapist that can't control yourself. A bunch of media outlets provide some coverage on these things but without any idea what is going on. Most of the "leaders" of this new wave feminism are saying they are being threatened or even sending death threats to themselves to get attention. When noone believes these threats are being sent from themselves it makes people believe that people that play games are assholes that want to kill everyone.

This looked fake to me from the get, so i wasn't surprised how quickly it all derailed (although not before they got a couple million views and big press ofc).
I read an article on SmokingGun, about how the men in this video have been harassed, and had to make statements on their FB/Twitter accounts to clear things up. One of the guys was wearing a shirt with his company's logo, so his company has also had to make a statement.
Another of the guys the producers misled, busks for a living, so, I doubt he's got the luxury of an online platform to clear things up.
The production team told these men that they were going to take part in a "funny skit" ..... .... ....

Plot twist: the guys were the only real victims here.
