Army to review decision to have male cadets wear high heels

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It gets a fair amount of attention in the U.S. military, in which thousands of assaults are reported annually and the Pentagon has acknowledged cultural problems that need to be addressed.
One place where the military is addressing the issue is college campuses, where Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) organizations train students before they earn a commission and become new officers. That has led to this:
Cadets and cadre put on their favorite pair of high heels and marched in Temple’s Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to raise awareness of sexual assault against women. #TUWAM15
An anonymous post on Reddit alleged that cadets there were required to participate, and would get a negative mark for not supporting the “sharp” mission, an Army acronym for the Army’s Sexual Harrassment/Assault Response & Prevention program.

There is a concrete reason why ‘shooting yourself in the foot’ is an idiom as this man found out.
Police have not revealed the 35-year-old’s name who was admitted to hospital last weekend in the Spanish town of Elda near Alicante.
However, it currently appears that he shot himself in the foot with a handgun to find out what it would feel like.

Authorities have not yet found the firearm which they believe he threw out of his car window on the way to hospital, according to i100.
Investigators have not ruled out sending him for psychological testing or charging him for firearm offences.

Man's Ear Sliced in Bodega Fight Over Bananas: Report

A Staten Island man who was arguing with a bodega worker over a bad bunch of bananas sliced the worker’s ear with a broken beer bottle, according to a report.
The 35-year-old man was arguing with the bodega worker outside the store on Broadway in West Brighton just before 10:30 p.m., reported the Staten Island Advance.
When the worker asked him to leave the store, the man broke a Heineken bottle and smashed the victim over the head, the paper reported.

Officers reportedly found a 9-inch kitchen knife in the man’s sweatshirt pocket. He is charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful knife possession and harassment.
The victim sustained a laceration to the back of his left ear, according to the SI Advance.

Baltimore Pastor Complains Economy So Bad Rioters Only Found One Chain Store to Burn

What a shame: if only the economy had been better, the rioters would have had more name-brand stores to burn.
Seriously, this had to be one of the strangest statements to come out of the Baltimore riots. On this evening's Ed Show, Baltimore Pastor Jamal Bryant complained that because of economic "disenfranchisement," the rioters "could only find one anchor store in that neighborhood" to destroy.
