I apologise for my conduct earlier on in this thread ... I guess my famous English sense of humour isn't big enough to over-ride the emotion of seeing PP back ... on April 1st too!

After the initial shock ... I'm very glad to see that you are OK PP ... please don't do that to me again! I remember you asking us a few years back to let you know that we were OK if we had a sudden absence from the forum for whatever reason ... I wish you'd been able to do the same.

wow....I saw this thread and decided to read it again. I didn't realize [or remember?] that whalen wanted himself banned. I just unbanned him, whether he likes it or not....I'd like to see him back and posting.

OK I think its safe to let you all know a bit of what happened. I was very ill, I wasn't expected to survive. Only about 4% of people that come down with what I had survive. Usually they only live for a few weeks. It took all the luck in the world and all of Gods love for me to survive. I actually still don't want to mention exactly what it was tho. Just believe me that it was very deadly serious and my doctor is amazed, confounded and quite proud of himself that I survived.....and still is. Hell he didn't expect me to even survive the operation and I almost didn't. Because of this health issue I could still pass away at anytime so I will be on "pins and needles" until I actually do pass on. At some point its going to happen and I most likely will only get a couple of weeks to finish getting my affairs in order. I will let you guys know at that time. ATM my body feels pretty decent, its my head that has had a hard time adjusting. I fully expected to be feeding worms at this time and IDK why I'm still here. I'm writing this today because I made it over 18 months beyond my projected date of demise.....so I'm in a pretty decent mood and felt I needed to clear a few things up.

I appreciate your concern and understanding. Just know that this was a very serious health issue and I was going to pass on and that it was extremely difficult for me to wrap my head around these health issues.......but I've overcome them for the time being. Now, to make my life somewhat more complete I would appreciate that whalen would come back and post again. If I could overcome the pain and suffering I went thru I expect that whalen [and a few others] could overcome any "hurt feelings" as well and post again.

Thanks for that message PP - and I'm sorry again for my reaction at the time. We aren't entitled to know any of that stuff, but all I can say is that it seems that you're a bit of a miracle and it helps that we know a little of what was going on.

As for Whalen - I hope he comes back too - but I fear it's unlikely. Maybe you can work your miracles in that direction too!

It is what it is, and that is past us....... I know what it is to start to die, but only from my viewpoint. It is heavy and really screws with your head. I have "events" now and then that remind me that i am basically Fortunate and F##cked at the same time. Lucky and screwed is a weird existence.
Last year was bad, real bad, and the sense of loss due to your absence, was profound. I was very ill with a resistant infection for many months last year and it really took a toll on my sanity.

So, in case we get no more chances, you are a very sick weird bastard and it has been a privilege and a pleasure! -Whalen
