    What happens in Vegas...

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported the shooter appeared to have fired down on concert-goers from rooms on the upper level of the Mandalay Bay.
Ivetta Saldana, who was attending the festival, told the newspaper she hid in a sewer after the shooting began.
“It was was a horror show,” she told the The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “People were standing around, then they hit the floor.”
Witnesses said they saw multiple victims and dozens of ambulances. Some concert-goers huddled in the basement of the nearby Tropicana hotel-casino.
Some flights destined for the McCarran International Airport were diverted due to the incident.
The three-day Route 91 Harvest festival started Friday. The shooting occurred on the final night.

LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas hospital says at least two people are dead and 24 are injured – 12 critically – after a shooting at a country music festival late Sunday on the Las Vegas Strip.
Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the Strip after authorities received reports of an active shooter near the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
Some officers took cover behind their vehicles while others carrying assault rifles ran into the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino. Shortly after midnight (PDT), Las Vegas police said “one suspect is down” and that there was an active investigation. At 12:30 a.m., police said they believed there were no shooters on the loose.

"We heard what sounded like firecrackers and at first we laughed, then we looked down and there was a girl covered in blood right next to us and we started to run," she told Q13 News' Jon Humbert late Sunday night. "We hid behind bleachers. We hid behind plants. We hid wherever we could while trying to run away."
Authorities shut down part of the Las Vegas Strip and Interstate 15.
Some flights destined for the McCarran International Airport were diverted due to the incident, and the airport was temporarily closed.
Concert-goers reported seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay and the sound of what they described as automatic gunfire.
Witnesses say they saw multiple victims as they fled the gunfire raining down on the concert venue.
"We passed body after body," Cantrell said. "It was awful. There were bodies left and right."
Some later huddled in the basement of the nearby Tropicana hotel-casino.

Stephen Paddock, 64, opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas Village early on Monday morning killing at least 50
His brother Eric tells DailyMail.com his family have no idea what happened to make him shoot
'He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something,' he said
The brother of the Las Vegas shooter said that he was a normal guy who must have 'snapped' before carrying out the worst mass shooting in American history.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Eric Paddock said that 'something happened' to make his brother Stephen kill at least 50 people and injure 200.
Eric said that there was 'absolutely no indication he could do something like this' and said that Stephen had no political or religious affiliation.
He said: 'He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something'.
Speaking from his home in Orlando, Florida, Eric said: 'We know absolutely nothing, this is just, we are dumbfounded.

I was woken up by a phone call from my son at 11 pm local time telling me we are under attack! According to the earliest reports over the Police scanner, it was believed that there were multiple attack locations. This turned out to be erroneous info, but it had us wondering if Sin City was finally going to be victimized by religious zealots. I always give thanks for "low" numbers. With 22,000 potential targets, it could have been so much worse.
My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones.....

wow, that's really sad to hear.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
