I still check once in awhile but I didn't post much here anyway. I got diagnosed with COPD a few years ago and considering I'd quit smoking almost 10 yrs before it was a kick in the cojones! Was mild its moderate now, still walk a couple miles a day and not on O2 yet. Retired a year after because a boiler house wasn't a good place to be. That said, a year ago I decided to quit snusing to see if I could get my O2 levels up. Went to the freezer to throw it all away but after looking at it and adding up the money decided I'd better use it instead. Started with the high nic stuff and worked my way down and thru the 8 mil stuff and then used Zyn for a couple weeks until the nasty taste of that crap made me decide to drop it completely. It took a year+ to run thru it all but I'm nic free now. It didn't help my O2 (much) but my BP meds are a third of what they were and I might be able to get off them completely too.

I do miss snus but don't see any reason to do it anymore. I've looked at the newer flavors and nothing sounds good. Now if somebody handed me a tin of Claq Qui, Lucky Strike, or 1847 I might slip. I do have to go to the Reddit snus sub occasionally and tell the kids that "when I started snusing there wasn't any strong/extra strong/extreme snus. Then they came out with General Sterk AND WE LIKED IT!"

            tldr-I quit.

Good that you were able to quit all nicotine mate. So with your copd you can walk "a couple of miles a day"? Hell my copd only lets me walk like to the bathroom and back and I still may get out of breath. My Dr. says if you smoked a pack a day for 20 years you will end up with copd at some point. I believe him now. Just a heads up for all the previous smokers. Sucks big time.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Yeah this stuff sucks! I can walk a long ways on level ground as long as I don't try to go too fast. Plus I've got a personal trainer. Pic below of her giving me the "its time to walk NOW" look. Kind of expecting them to put me on a POC soon for walking. I went in for a stress test/nuclear scan yesterday and told them that within a minute or so of being on that treadmill after you speed it up my o2 is gonna drop like a rock so this may not be pretty. After a quick consultation with the doctor they decided maybe it'd be better if I came back next week and do another type of test that didn't require the treadmill.

When I was smoking I read that 1 out of 3 people that smoked would have heart and/or lung problems and I thought that was pretty good odds. Seems that they've revised that now. With out snus though I'd be much worse off than I am. I've been pushing it as harm reduction to the pulmologist and cardiologist. Pulmonolist is of the old school "quit everything you like" type but the cardio guy seemed interested.

Nice trainer. Yea this getting old sucks. Snus is preventing further harm for sure. Its not great for a damaged heart but a lot better than other forms of tobacco.

Sorry to hear of the problems you have been having. Still working on the snus freezer here, found some Lucky Strike red in there yesterday. My lungs have improved these last 11 years on snus.
