So excited for opening day on Saturday. Here in Oregon, one has to be drawn in a lottery in order to hunt buck deer in eastern Oregon, and I got drawn this year with my father in law. With any luck, I'll bag me some venison, and maybe a few grouse while I'm at it. I've got the groceries, a big bottle of Sailor Jerry's rum, a bottle of my Dad's homemade marion berry wine, and a lot of snus. I am ready to go, but I don't leave till tomorrow. Wish me blood!!!!

Good Luck man.
Hunting season is only in for Bows right now here in GA but once rifle season opens im with ya.
My family has 250 acres here in greenville Ga thats full of deer.
Ive been wanting to go hunting so bad that me and a friend grabbed our 4-10s and went squirell hunting.
Sure, some look dont upon hunting but ive never poached in my life and was raised to respect nature and that hunting serves a purpose.
Sucks you had to go through a lottery though. Hell if you lived here man youd could go hunting whenever you feel like when its in season.
Good luck hunting man and bag a big'un

There are around 600 deers in Dortmund to hunt each year and 560.000 inhabitants. A lottery would be a good idea (LOL).
Wonder, why hunting is not more than a hobby for rich weirdos, where I live?
Apart from that, I wish everyone who lives in a less crowded area good luck ("Waidmannsheil!" in German). Hunting is far more "human" than livestock-keeping, nowadays. I allow only vegetarians to argue against hunting.
Cheers!

Thanks all for the words of luck!! Well, it was a tough season this year, no one in our party was able to bag a buck. The mulies were odd this year. Usually you will get at least some bucks/spikes running with the does and fawns (and there were a ton or them), but there were none to be seen, and there were a lot of does running around by themselves, which also hasn't been common in the past. Its so frustrating to be scoping a herd of 17 deer and not be able to see horns on any of them. Oh well, it is what it is...I had a great time nonetheless and was able to get out in the wilderness and see some descent wildlife while I was at it. Good luck to all who are about to embark on their own hunting trips soon!!
There is an abundance of whitetails here...

Yes...snuff dipping is almost synonymous with hunters. Any hunter that smokes on the hunt is making it pointless for himself to even be out there. There was always something about having a nice fat dip in and shooting a gun back when I dipped. Now it's a loaded gun and a snus. Ahhh, love it. If it's in my sights, it's dead. The .243 never misses.
