    Budwesier American Ale

I finally got my hands on the newly released Budweiser American Ale (only available in America to my knowledge). I'm pretty drunk so I'll try to write a decent topic. From my impressions, it's not that great. I've had better amber ales from micro-brewers. My favorite beer is definitely Alaskan Amber; compared to the "almighty" Budweiser's American Ale, Alaskan Amber is better in almost every aspect: color, head, aroma, and taste. The flavor of Budweiser is very bland compared to all other micro-brew amber-beers; it has a watered down tone and leaves virtually no aftertaste. Has anyone else tried it yet? I think I'm going to invest my hard-earned money into better beers; especially those brewed by Sierra Nevada and Goose Island!!!

Im from Ga and love our micro-brews from here.

By far Sweetwater is the best.

They offer brew tours and taste testings wed-fri from 5-7:30

I have had a 6 pack and then get buzzed. but with sweetwater brewery 5 bucks buys u 6 beers and i get drunk instanyl.

All the beer there is day fresh,

After sweetwater it would be terrapin, also made in atlanta.

When it comes to specialty beers, micro breweries take the cake,

Commercial breweries tend to f it up

Terrapin brewery is in Athens now. It used to be labeled as a local beer but brewed in Maryland (?). It's ok, but Sweetwater is better.

For micro-brews, you should check out Ska Brewing in Colorado....bad ass.

      Budweiser be stank.

Thats what the Label says, but im drunk so i may be wrong.

        Sweetwater is the shiz-nit though.

Use to it was a local brewery then gained a lot of following and cant consider itself micro persay.

But im very proud of those guys.

Anytime you want day fresh beer and damn good looking girls giving u a brew tour come to ATL and do the brew tour for 5 bucks and get a free glass and drunk.

Plus they have live bands and they grill out outside the brewery.

U can bring your dog and a lounge chair and sit outside and enjoy the music and damn good beer,

Hell, im going next week just hinking about how fun it is.

Sweetwater is on tap everywhere here. Fantastic brews.

I'm going to have to make the trek up to Atlanta one of these days to check out their brew pub

All the talk about microbrews... I left and went down to Moon River Brewing Co. yesterday and had a few IPA's and some porter. They also had a fantastic wheat beer on the cask. Couldnt leave without a couple of those

I'm not sure if I even wanna put any money down on this Bud ale now after some of the comments. I was wondering if anyone else here enjoys some of the Samuel Adams brews? I've had the Cherry Wheat and Boston Lager. Cherry Wheat was just ok. I really liked the Boston Lager.

Bud isn't American anymore so I don't buy it anymore. Sam Adams is my go to beer now. I had some of Sam's Irish red (i love killians too) and it was very good. I like the Sam Adams line of beer. Some are better than others but theres something for everyone.

Here in the Piedmont of NC, we are lucky have an excellent small local brewery named Red Oak that produces a beer with no preseratives. You can find it on tap only in most area bars, or if you live as close as I do, you can go to the brewery and buy a half gallon glass jug (called a Growler) to take home. It is a seriously excellent beer.

I don't think it ever was. AFAIK it was always made by Coors.

Well, it was a recipe that at one point was made in Ireland but that was long ago.

Coors bought the recipe and has since made it. Since Killians has been commercial it has been made by Coors.

IMO, its the only good beer coors makes.

Killian's was a real Irish ale and is now a colored lager.

So, I believe it was Grim who mentioned Sweetwater, and I got curious and went to my local adult beverage retailer to get some.

They had a few flavors, but since I'm not a big fan of Pale Ale, IPA, or Lager, I chose the Hummer (belgian white; think Blue Moon).

I'm sitting here with a glass in front of me and a tear on my face. I didn't bring 3 extra bottles from the fridge. This stuff is pretty amazing! It smells intensely wheaty, strong notes of oranges, and this really mild, round spicy smell waaaaaaay back there somewhere. Super silky mouthfeel, goes down just as smooth, and it has virtually no aftertaste. If anything, it has a little sweetness on the finish, probably from the orange. Now that I've tasted it, the bottle mentions orange and coriander, so I'm a little proud I got it, but honestly, they're the first things you'll smell besides the wheat.

I'll definitely be buying more of this, and giving consideration to a vacation to the brewery for a tour! For those of you who haven't heard of it, it reminds me of my previous favorite "craft" beer (quotes because it's a Sam Adams...), Sam Adams summer ale. Only this is GOOD! Don't get me wrong, SA Summer is good, but this is on a completely different level. I may be getting my buzz on tonight. This stuff is too good to leave laying around for Heather to find...
