    Snus & Sport

    Hi,
Have been always thinking that snus is very popular among the people who do sports... is it so? I am propably thinking so because me and my friends are very active with skies, bikes, surf & windsurboards and no one is smoking though many of us is using snus. Have you noticed the same?

Would be interesting to hear what kind of sports you do.. if you do!

I know snus is very popular among hockey players - ice hockey, I mean. I only smoked for about 18 months but in that time I definitely noticed my lung capacity went down - cycling and martial arts were certainly more work! Snus, I think, can almost enhance athletic performance - giving you a kick of stimulation. Much better than cigarettes which just make you cough and choke 8)

about as athletic as i get is backpacking. Snus is great of those extended treks at 10,000 feet above sea level with a heavy pack on your back. Smoking up that high (and I have done it) sucks.

The most athletic I get is hiking to a fishing hole, or to my hunting spot. But yes, back when I played football(American, not soccer), almost everyone on the team used smokeless tobacco.

My sport of choice is scuba diving, and snus just doesn't work very well for some reason!
Actually I dive a KISS Sport rebreather, for you diving buffs out there. It's a great rig!

Hey lofat, I too am an avid backpacker. Perhaps our paths may cross in the Sierras one day. I'll share some of my snus with you!

Yes. At least a lots of ice hockey players in scandinavia uses snus. I was wondering do the NHL players use dip also?

Houston hit a record high of 100 degrees yesterday. I ran 4 1/2 miles when it hit 100. I took water! It felt great!

It's a simple formula for me:

caffeine buzz + nicotine buzz + exercise buzz = perfection.

I don't step into the gym without snus in my mouth. I don't speedwalk the local mountain without snus in my mouth. But then again, I am that fool that used to rollerblade 50 miles a week when I was smoking 2.5 packs a day. And like SpeedoApe, the hottest part of the day with the hottest temps is my favorite time of day to exercise. I love the heat!
