Something fishy is going on...

This question has plagued me throughout my snusing life. When ever I show snus to non-snusers (the norms) they always seem to think that it smells of fish! I have never got this, it's seems such a bizarre concept.

I like fish as much as the next man but I don't tend to place it in my top lip for extended periods of time. I'm pretty sure snus doesn't taste like fish, I couldn't see that taking very well. "Swedish match is proud to present its new trout flavoured general...."

Does anyone else think this? Or has anyone met a non-snuser that agrees?

Be asured, that English people seem to have a strange relation with fish. The island is surrounded by the sea, full of fish, yet they all seem to hate fish (at least some preparations, like fermentation or salting). I guess there must have been a time when people in England (or the UK as a whole) were forced to eat fish, because nothing else was available in sufficient amounts due to some bad harvest or whatever. Maybe people in England just connect every strange smell with fish since then.

I never met anyone who thought that snus mells like fish, but some who said that it smells like ammonia, which also is quite a strange smell.

I personally have grown to love the slightly ammonia-like smell of a fresh shipment of snus.

I haven't had anyone say it smells like fish... but i have had someone say it smells like a combo of fish food and cat piss... lol

My Daughter (20 yo) says they all smell like Butt, except Jake ice mint. That one smells like "minty Butt".
