Snused out, had to buy some Grizz...

So, as most of you know, I'm putting to sea soon, so I bought a few rolls of General to get me through my trip, but I ran out of my single cans a day or two ago, and I broke down and bought a can of Grizzly long cut Natural.

Generally, I'm not a fan of the natural dips (e.g. Cope, Red Man FC Natural, Skoal Classic...) but this one's not bad. Makes my want to revisit Cope, maybe. I really can't argue the price, one can was $2.20, and a 5 can roll is $8.99. I was fairly repulsed by the flavor at first, but after using about a third of a can today, the taste has somewhat grown on me. I'd probably buy another can in the future. I think I've really grown away from the sweet tobaccos. I've never tried "chewing tobacco", like your Beech Nuts, Red Mans, Levi Garretts, those things, you know.

Anyway, I kinda like it, and that's the point. Comments?

I could never bring myself to like Grizzly.

Its a great buy, and i have friends that use it exclusively.

However, most of them use the wintergreen flavor, and i HATE wintergreen.

I tried their take on Natural and it was too sweet.

I prefer pure tobacco, plain and simple.

Copenhagen is my go to for Premium tobacco taste both in long cut and fine cut.

But Redman Natural is my go to for cost efficient dip with exceptional flavor.

    I love Redman.

Most dips though carry that Straight flavor which is like candy tobacco, sugary nastiness which i dont understand why its called Straight.

Tastes nothing like plain straight tobacco.

I agree. Straight should be called "Vomit". It seriously tastes like bile. I know guys that dip Skoal Straight almost exclusively though; maybe it's an acquired taste. I've heard the same about Copenhagen. My direct supervisor dips Cope when we're out to sea, so maybe I'll steal a few pinches from him underway and see if my newfound appreciation for Grizz Natty can bring me around to Cope LC.

I bought a can of Grizzly Wintergreen pouches out of curiosity. The flavor is pretty nasty at first; it's dominant of artificial sweeteners and bitter chemicals. However, as time goes on, the taste becomes more mild. General Wintergreen tastes way better than Grizzly.
