    Ultimate Tactical Man-Purse

So, I've been searching around for a smaller, lighter alternative to my backpack. I needed room for snus, snuff, digi-cam, condoms, a multi-tool, wallet, phone, PsP, meds, tactical knife etc....every day carry type items....+some work supplies.
Those of you in the first responder community [Condor? Sentry?] are probably familiar with 5.11 Tactical products, they make everything from knives to pants etc.
I found a Quantico Tactical supply store near me and got the 5.11 P.U.S.H [that's "practical utility shoulder hold-all"]. It retails for around $50.00 usd. I'll do a full review eventually on our knife and gear blog, but just hafta say, this is a great piece of gear. I've been contemplating buying Maxpedition's version of a bag like this for some time. Never really been a shoulder-bag kinda guy, but this one's definitely awesome, there's even a spot where I can attach my Tactical Tailor Utility pouch with Malice clips if I want to add more options to my daily bag, but there's plenty of room in the PUSH for most every day type stuff, shoot, I could even attach a little Grovsnus pouch to the side pocket with a Grimloc or Malice clip! It'll be a great range bag too for earplugs, ammo and safety stuff.

here's a link to our gear review blog, if anyone's interested

I was thinking about something like that, but I was looking at the Maxpedition Fatboy model (around $65)

Carrying a purse has never before looked so.... Dangerous?

But seriously, I like that green one. I might look into something like that for hauling some of my paintball gear

We carry those packed with additional bullshit for an active shooter scenario. Theyre pretty cool, i guess

                Condor / Pony,

Have you tried the 5.11 stuff. I've worn out a couple of pair of boots in only a few months each. The toes aren't sewn and the glue sucks so my shoes grow a mouth every time. I got a free pair of 5.11 socks that lasted ONE washing. I'm just not really a fan of their stuff. It seems like its well marketed but not well built. Made in china but expensive crap. I switched to Thorogood boots and they have lasted over a year now. Bates boots lasted much longer too. So i'm pretty sure it's not just me.

The man bag looks pretty cool but I don't see myself putting one on every day. It might be something I would wear hunting to carry calls / handgun / water etc. in. I'm more of a "wear it on my belt" kinda guy I guess. I look foreward to the review. Maybe i'm jumping the gun a bit on judging the company just by their footwear. (which does suck badly)

I've heard similar things about 5.11. I actually just got that one because I'd been debating the Maxpedition one for a long time and figured I'd give it a go. I went recently to Tactical Tailor, near me, in Lakewood, WA. Their stuff is 100% US made, whereas I've heard Blackhawk! and 5.11 is all made in Taiwan or China. Tactical Tailor is mega-cool, though as non military/LE, I have limited/little use for much of their product line. I did however buy the Tactical Tailor zippered utility pouch, it fits onto my 5.11 PUSH with Malice clips [which TT created]. I also found a great multi-tool/folding knife pouch by TT for my Swisstool. I like Tactical Tailor because not only is their stuff all US made, it's all made on site in Lakewood, WA, they even have their own injection molding machines for plastic parts! Jeeeaaahhhh!

so, yeah, in the future I'll support them instead of 5.11, a company that offers no info on where their stuff is made!

I have personally never worn their boots. I have a few pairs of their pants, and a pretty heavy duty winter jacket. All of this stuff is stuff I didn't have to pay for, though. I have seen people buy 5.11 boots and then wear them out real quick. That style of boot I have not been real impressed with the durability of anyway. By that I mean the boot upper and the 'sneaker style' sole.

To tell you the God's honest truth, when it comes to my tactical/work clothing, I really tend to lean towards hiking/adventure companies, because I know what they make lasts and will be durable. I just buy it in black or O.D.

                    Boots:
Danner and Asolo. I have 2 pairs of Danner boots, and when they wear out, resole them, and theyre good to go for another year. I have a pair of insulated and non-insulated Danners, and I think my oldest pair is 5 years old, and no signs of wear on my uppers, just resole them for $35 and keep going. The Asolos are for SWAT/SRT stuff. They are comfy and are built like a tank.

                    Jackets/Pants/etc:
North Face, Marmot, Mountain Hard Wear, Mountain Khakis, Kühl, Arc'teryx, REI, Patagonia, Cloudveil, Royal Robbins, etc.

                    Actual tactical gear:
I use a lot of Blackhawk! stuff, and whatever is issued to me. I have been pleased with the quality and thoughtfulness of build of the Blackhawk products. My drag bags for my AR-10 and my 700 .308 are Blackwater bags and I really like them.
