Heh, oldies are goodies! I mostly use Ettan and usually drink GT - Gin and Tonic. Have you noticed, that there is lot of differens between gins? Bombay Sapphire Gin is unbeaten!

If you like Bombay Sapphire, mate, you should try Hendricks, if you haven't already (or if you can even find it in Finland).

My pint largely depends on my whim at the time of ordering, but most of the time it'll just be a good old Guinness. Mind you, that's unless I'm in an area with an excellent regional ale - on the (increasingly rare) occasions that I quest back home to the Guildford area from Bristol I'm always sure to keep it Hogs Back Brewery.

But yeah, if in doubt, drink a stout!

Telling you what I drink in a bar would likely be misleading, since I live in an American university town. I'm still a student (Ph.D., mind you) and earn a teaching assistant salary, so when I go out, I drink what's cheap, which is usually Pabst Blue Ribbon, or some Miller or Budweiser product. It's rare to find anything but a blended Scotch in a bar here, so I will nromally stick to beer. However, at home, I keep a bottle of single malt Scotch around to drink straight up with snus.

Born and living in Dortmund, Germany, the former european "capitol of beer" (now, unfortuanately, most breweries are gone, due to the economic crisis), there's only one way to go for me.

Not to mention: beer and snus are the perfect combination!

There's no more DAB in Dortmund??
I love DAB beer straight from an ice cold bottle, yummy!

Pabst is very popular near my university.

Personally, I like the flavor of natural ice over pabst... I'm probably alone in this choice though.

Student loans plus part time low wage work, so I know where your coming from. My favorite inexpensive beer is Amber Bock.

Yep, and the brewery's just down the road from where I grew up. Many a night (too many, some might say!) was spent in the good company of a few friends and a steady supply of T.E.A!

Hm... well... I used to mix drinks at quite a few of my friends' parties back in the day (haven't been able to do that much recently...all my friends went and got old, had kids, etc.), so I've had a bit of exposure to mixed drinks.

I like layered shooters a good deal, and...well... being about 45 minutes to an hour from Bourbon county Kentucky (yup, its a real place), I do enjoy the taste of a well-aged Kentucky Bourbon ('specially with a little water to open it up and release the flavor).

But in all honesty... my two top favorites, in order from top to bottom, would have to be
Gin Martini (I'm sorry, to my palate, vodka + vermouth just tastes...wrong.)
                            and
Schnapps & Hops (pour about a shot or so of peppermint schnapps in some beer, and enjoy. Makes a good cold one even colder, and makes a bad cold one palatable. )

Ah... then there are beers. Just so I don't ramble too much, I'll just drop my utmost favorite. Negro Modelo. Imagine a Mexican dark beer, nearly as stout as Guinness stout, but with a chocolatey aftertaste. It. is. wonderful. ...And will get you inebriated quite quickly if you aren't careful with it.

...Yeah... me and my rambling posts.... >.>

Ack, the most experience I've had with layered shots has been Goldschlager at the bottom, Jagermeister in the middle, and absinthe on top - served to me by my good friend (and now housemate) Jon last year in the bar of the hall of residence I was in last year at uni. That shot is EVIL.

I'm with you on the gin martinis, though - I have a habit of disliking pretty much anything containing vodka, these days, and you just can't go wrong with a decent martini.
