I'm an editor with an electronic publishing firm. Back in February of this year I was asked to edit my company's online repository of English-language music publications, one of the largest in the world. So now I get paid to read about, write about, and listen to music all day long. The pay and benefits could be better, but otherwise it's close to being my dream job.

I feel I am a heavily discriminated against minority (frustrated scribe without portfolio) since I do not have the same job as does PipenSnus. Oh sure I'm not a historically discriminated against minority....picky picky picky.

Insert virtual wry smiley-face here--necessary since I have foresworn all such webulous visual ephemera.

Darwin, I take your expression of envy as the congratulatory message I believe you intended it to be. Yes, I know I'm very lucky to have found a position that fits my skills, knowledge, and interests to a T, and I thank Fate for that. But it was sheer luck, nothing else.

It's not all a bed of roses, either, especially when I have to slog through four complete issues of magazines I loathe, simply because there's nothing else left in the "to-do" pile. And don't get me started on the brain-dead, cheapskate managerial bureaucracy at my company.

Congrats indeed P. and sorry for the thorns among the blooms but you know what the definition of a job is don't 'cha? A job is a task that is so inherently unpleasant they have to pay somebody to do it.

Monday to Friday I work part time at System Operations at my School's Server Room. Me and a few other dedicated students maintain the school's website, mainframe, server and database. Then on the weekends I DJ at various clubs and events around the city. I'm also a freelance game developer, during my freshman year in high school I worked online for a small software development firm. During holiday's I try to do internships at medical centres since I will soon be going to university to study medicine, currently I have a slot for a 1 week internship at a local Dermatologist's office in June.
