On the road to the dizzy heights of Security Officer in society I was in the British Army (Infantry) for 12 years and then I worked in Customs & Excise (drug dogs) for 9 months..................and no.......I couldn't give a flying frig if you do drugs or not.

These days I help government medical scientists find the vaccines for swine flu, bird flu, cures for cancer, malaria, TB etc. etc. by keeping animal rights people off their back. (No primates are used - mice and rats only).

They are ALF and yes they are clearly nuts.
I have no problem whatsoever about animal rights if the argument is coherent - which in its purest form it is, but these folks that come round once a week (got them tomorrow night) are pretty evil. They'll scream and shout at security officers and fight with us and I've always been puzzled by the waste of energy there. They are not targeting scientists that work on animals but they target gate monkeys. Their resources and energy could be better used debating and lobbying in the proper manner rather than resorting to violence or even terrorism. I've got no time for them.

Hopefully one day though, there will be no need for animals in medical research.

I'm the sales manager for a home improvement company in New England. We do kitchens and baths. I've been with them almost 8 years now and love my job for the most part. Having my income tied to the economy and consumer confidence is trying at times but I'm keeping my head above water so far. I also am the corporate trainer for the sales teams. I love that part of the job 'cos I get to teach all the tips and tricks to new sales people. I have to travel to PA to do that but they put me up in a decent hotel while I'm there. I'm going again Thursday but it's only for an overnight.

Been snusing for 4 years now.

I am now involuntarily retired by the recession, but I was an IT guy for 34 years. My last 14 years, I was an Oracle DBA on large UNIX systems.

I work in sleep disorders medicine, analyzing recordings of patients' brain activity, cardiac, respiration, etc. while they sleep. It was fascinating work for a couple of days, about 15 years ago. Snus, thank God, helps me out with my own brain activity. I go home and work more at night, so I don't sleep much myself. This also limits my time with my wife and 2 year old son, and makes it impossible to finish writing a novel I started a few years back. But, I have a job that lets me snus and listen to my iPod at all times. And that's what's important in life, youngsters: a job that lets you snus and listen to your iPod at all times.

I do product design and estimating for Hamilton Safe Company. Pretty much I spend countless hours on AutoCAD and Inventor, to design safes, night depository units, vaults and other various equipment, then I get to estimate the cost. I have also been going to school full time at night for my associates degree in mechanical engineering. I am finally in my last quarter, and I'm hoping to continue on to my bachelor's degree.
