    Are you into cooking?

Is anybody is interested in cooking, general cooking, regional or ethinic, BBQ, etc.?

Come talk about it on Net Cooking Talk forums!

Mods, this is just a site I go to, and I'm not trying to spam your forum!

Jamesstew loves to cook, especially on the grill and in my home made barbecue smoker. Never with propane, mind you, charcoal and wood all the way. Jamesstew also likes making homemade artisan bread and used to brew his own beer but never gets the time now. He will definitely check out the site.

Cool! There are a couple of BBQ guys there, and a couple bread guys there too. It's a fun atmosphere like here, but not quite as weird!

I wish I had the money/equipment to cook. I have two cabinets, a microwave from the 80's, a kitchen the size of Big Momma, an oven that doesn't work and a love for taco bell. Right now I don't cook much but I want to!

No oven limits you. Does your stove work? Hell, just go buy a cheap charcoal grill and you cook some delicious food!

I wish I could cook! I basically live off Taco Bell, Subway, leftovers, and microwave dinners.

My stove works but I only have two burners. I make a stir fry occasionally. I really cannot afford a decent grill and don't have anywhere to leave it outside. That should all change this summer when I get a new apartment.

My family is Hungarian, and I cook a lot of that for my Pollock wife.

I'm the primary cook in my house. Made Cuban arroz con pollo tonight. Served with Red Stripe.

I'm the primary cook at my house too. I make everything from Tex-Mex, authenic Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, or whatever else I decide to make. Cooking is fun most of the time, but my family tends to be really picky. I eat all sorts of foods that my wife and kids don't like (like spicy stuff and sushi, etc).

BTW, my favorite piece of cooking equipment is my trusty Weber charcoal kettle grill. I've had more expensive grills before and even went to propane for a couple of years but have never found a more versatile cooker. Using lump charcoal and a chimney starter I can also have it ready in about the same time it takes to warm up a gas grill.

That's what I have too. Although I don't have a chimney starter...I use that extra time to down a beer or two.

If you use starter fluid to light your charcoal you should give a chimney starter a try. You don't realize that the lighter fluid taste is there until you taste the food without it. With briquets it still takes about 20 minutes to start your charcoal so you can have those two beers. The great thing is that it gets every briquet lit more or less evenly.

                              Agree 100%

I'm a charcoal snob. People BEG me to light my Weber in the summer.

I tossed around the idea of culinary school years ago, until I found out how much the total costs are.

Alton Brown taught me a lot about cooking fundamentals. Love the Food Network.
