Yeah, although I kind of feel like I shouldn't say which one on the open forum for security's sake.
Suffice it to say, though, that having started as a "boomer fag", I'll probably stay one for my career. No way am I giving up my 9-man bunkroom for 20-man berthing and a hotrack.

My roommate was in the Navy and was explaining to me what a hotrack was just the other day. Must suck - I hate when you sit in a chair someone else has been sitting in, can't imagine a bed.
Former Army Reserve here and also want to say thank you to all the current, past and future serving members in any of the US Armed Forces.
The sacrifices you are all willing to make by basically writing a blank check to this country up to and including your life is greatly appreciated now and always.
Thanks to all for your service! Every male in my family has been in the service back as far as I can find on our family tree. My brother just got back from Iraq a few months ago.
I enlisted on my 17th birthday as a nasty guardsman, was in for two years and got a general turned into honorable discharge after 5 years for our recruiters mistakes. My best friends and I all enlisted at the same time, they went to boot camp first and one of them had a blown tendon in his leg that our recruiter said "shhh" about.
I also had a trick shoulder from a football incident that she said keep quite about. A bummer all around. I was going to switch to Navy active duty after high school and my ASVAB score was high enough to be admitted into the Nuclear school for the Navy.
Oh well, life goes on. Got a wonderful wife and 3 kids for it. My 17 year old told me last night that he wants to join the Navy and play band for them. Pretty kick ass if you ask me
Hotracking wouldn't be so bad, except you have no idea what the nasty bastard is doing while you're on your shift. :P
If you've ever pulled racks to paint bulkheads, then I don't need to tell you about the disgusting shit you find stuck to those walls.
it's ok he doesn't know what your doing while he is on his shift so it equals out. i only had to hotrack a couple of times. the rest of the time i had a rack in the torpedo room next to a torpedo. the times i did hotrack i never thought about it too much.
Sam Pepys reckoned that Naval discipline was maintained by "rum, sodomy and the lash". But it's a lot more civilised these days. The rum ration and corporal punishment are no more...
